• A lot of the vocal feminists, at least in gaming, use absolutely backwards logic that doesn't make much sense and try to change things that honestly don't need changing. Men have been discriminated against in video games since the beginning. In fact, video games are probably the biggest supporter of the disposable men cliche. Seriously, when was the last time you gunned down a horde of females in a game? The fact is that video games rely on stereotypical cliches to entertain. If feminists want to change video games, they need to advocate for both genders, because right now the male gender is being left behind as if we aren't portrayed negatively either.
It's actually totally reasonable to have a problem with the way games depict men (You should probably note that the whole 'disposability' thing is actually one of the big issues with the way games depict women - this particular video and the one before it do talk a fair bit about it, if you're interested.), but that doesn't detract from the problems with depictions of women in games. Maybe when the games industry has such a big problem with the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence, don't try to use men's problems as a way to silence them, yeah? That really doesn't help anything but maintaining the status quo.

 • Uh, video game developers consist mainly of males. Things like most military shooters for example are mainly a product of a primarily male development teams. Video games are inherently political on some level, and consist of the values held by the creators. Mowing down men isn't sexist when the team that made it consists mostly of straight white males and they're trying to appeal mainly to a demographic a straight white males. The video is spot-on in what it tries to convey. It identifies tropes that are present within a lot of games pertaining to women. Particularly women being killed assaulted in order to show that these games are "edgy" and "cool". If you actually watch the video, regardless of your thoughts on previous videos she's made, you'd see that she's spot-on as well. I'll agree that some of her precious videos are rather inconsistent in what they try to convey, and often come off as muddled, but I'd watch this video. It's probably the most accurate she's been.

It's supporting the idea that the male sex/gender is disposable. Whoever is doing it is irrelevant.
Particularly women being killed assaulted in order to show that these games are "edgy" and "cool".
Here's the thing, game devs try to portray the games they create in a way is comparable to real life. The sad, and absolutely unfortunate thing is that women are often taken advantage of when the situation goes to shit. I really don't think Anita is in touch with with how game devs think. Literally no one I've met has ever had the reaction of "This game is cool because they pushed the boundaries and showed a woman being injured." In fact, is it not the protagonist, the player, who punishes the person that beat/harmed a female? Her argument is held up by the false notion that showing a female being harmed somehow encourages/supports it among the male youth, yet when such a thing happens in a game, the antagonist is punished for doing such a thing. It just doesn't make any sense. When a women is abused in a game, (and the game gives positive reinforcement for such a behavior being bad) why the shit does no one give a flying fuck about child soldiers in Metal Gear Solid & Halo? Seriously, the good guys, the protagonists, the people who defeat the bad guys USE children as soldiers! But, oh no, that's completely alright. Innocent children being tortured into war machines isn't a problem at all. Look at what Halo has done to gamer's views of people being okay with child soldiers! Ask what type of SPARTAN fans want to be, and the majority go for SPARTAN-IIs and IIIs! For Christ's sake, these kids are being sent to kill humans and genocidal aliens, their lives ruined, their social perceptions skewed awry, and all these fans want to be Spartans... Woman being portrayed negatively was a problem in the past when games had little to no depth to their plots, but the problem is fixing itself.
I'll agree that some of her precious videos are rather inconsistent in what they try to convey, and often come off as muddled, but I'd watch this video. It's probably the most accurate she's been.
I frankly don't care about any of that. She took over $100,000 and barely put any of it to use for what she claimed she would do. She claims to be a gamer but she doesn't even capture her own footage, she steals footage from other gamer's 'Let's Plays' and doesn't give them any credit. Not just that, but SHE TOOK OVER $100,000 AND HAS ONLY PUT OUT 4 OR 5 VIDEOS OVER THE COURSE OF 2(?) YEARS. She does not deserve the views, or the money. /rant
