So I'm currently an xbox 360 player. I know that one day, probably nearer to Christmas time, I will be upgrading to a next gen console. I've had my heart set on the PS4 for some time but now, due to Destiny, I've had my head turned towards the Xbone only because of the ability to transfer my Destiny account from 360 to Xbone.
I know the first DLC in December will be for all consoles but after that I'm pretty sure they'll only be available for next gen.
So here's my question. Do I opt for the Xbone for the ability to transfer or do I go for the PS4 and start all over again but enjoy the bonus of timed exclusives?

The black one.
-
You people upset me. Friends>Anyfrickencontentthatmayberelasedbyanyconsoleatanypointintime!!! Pick the console that has more friends. Don't pick the console that seems "better". Idiot.
-
Here is what I say: Choose console with friends Choose console with the EXCLUSIVE games you like, not any timed stuff like the destiny stuff for playstation Choose console with the controller you like better Bam, it's that easy
-
Obvious troll.
-
CHOOSE THE CONSOLE THAT HAS THE GAMES YOU LIKE... The ONLY reason I got an xbox one is because of halo and the master chief collection.. I also knew I'd be able to play destiny on it
-
Whatever you choose is the Right thing you shouldn't let Others choose for you :)
-
Go for ps4. They nailed it this gen. The only reason to stuck to xboxone is if you have friends who are on it. Otherwise ps4 is my recommendation. Nothing against Microsoft but its just my opinion that this time around Sony got it more right.
-
I beta'd 360, but going to PS4 at launch with the Destiny bundle... Disappointed at not being able to show off my beta reward, but figured it's better to go next gen "at the beginning". Put a lot of thought into it, no complaints with the Box... for me the system is just for gaming, and I liked the PS focus on that aspect. Not being a social or mp gamer I didn't have to agonize over what console my friends were using. (Though Destiny is very much going to change my gaming habits, luckily this site has made it very easy to find both friends and consoles to be social and mp!)

For u I'd go with the Xbox one cuz ur charaters will transfer from 360 to Xbox one but it won't to the ps4

Edited by DemonLord1910: 8/31/2014 1:00:38 PMWhat system did a lot of your friends get ?
-
Honestly having both systems would be great for this gen. If you are looking to get the complete destiny experience when it comes out get a ps4. If you want the master chief collection and destiny, you might want to get a xbox one. You also have to look at the games coming out in the future to make a decision on a console.

Edited by Joe3720: 8/28/2014 1:12:31 AMDisregarding the post that "The Cheese Factory" copy/pastes onto every freaking console decision on here, (Seriously man, talk about bias) There should be a few factors in your decision: 1. What do your friends play? 2. What controller feels more natural to you? 3. Look up a list of exclusives. Which list looks more appealing to you? 4.Are slightly better graphics a big deal to you? 5.Consider the trade-off of losing your character and getting DLC earlier, or keeping your character and waiting a bit for DLC. hope that helps your process, Joe the muhman

I have both consoles, get whichever your friends are on, has the controller that feels best to you, and has the exclusives or better community for the type of games you play most. Don't buy into the hype over the differences in GPU power made primarily by stupid kids gaming on 50"+ TV's with their Turtle Beach headsets.

Dude, I just noticed your user name! You are pretty awesome, Star Lord ;)
-
Asking people in a poll is pointless. What exclusives do you like more? there you go.
-
Halo.
-
This is just asking to start up the Console wars on these forums again. Go with whichever you have friends on, or which one you're most comfortable with. Simple as that.
-
If your in to halo and xbox exclusives xb1 if not ps4 but what really matters is being with your friends get what your friends get
-
If youre starting out on 360 and plan on going next gen then it only makes sense to get xb1. No reson to start over if you dont have to.
-
Pick the console that fits your needs. 1. Which console has the features you want? 2. What exclusives do you like? 3. Which console do your friends play? Get what you want not what others say you should get. I have owned every console since the NES including the ps4 and xbone. I like them all for different reasons.
-
I personally like the ps4 better but I think you should get a xb1 because of the transfer thing unless you the kind of person who likes to play a game over and over agin then get a ps4

Couldn't be more happy with the poll.

Here is a list of why the PS4 is the best next gen choice for Destiny: 1. PS4 is more powerful (1.8 vs 1.3 Teraflops) (http://au.ign.com/blogs/finalverdict/2013/10/26/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4-hardware-and-specifications/) 2. PS4 has faster GDDR5 Memory, which has twice the throughput of the ddr3 found in the xbone (http://au.ign.com/blogs/finalverdict/2013/10/26/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4-hardware-and-specifications/) 3. PS4 cheaper to buy (Why would someone pay more for a less powerful system?) 4. PS4 has more games than any other next gen system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_4_games) 5. PS+ is better value (6 free games a month, across 3 platforms. It’s also cheaper than Live and has a better selection of games) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(PAL_region)) 6. PS4 is 3 times more popular than the xbone (http://www.vg247.com/2014/07/31/playstation-consoles-outselling-xbox-by-more-than-31/) 7. Has a player base that is 3 times bigger, as a result 8. All cross platform games look and perform better on the PS4 (name a single cross platform game that looks/performs better on xbone, bet you can’t) Here is the proof: http://m.au.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_Native_Resolutions_and_Framerates 9. PS4 is focused on games. Doesn’t have focus on TV and Sports like the xbone does (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw) 10. The xbone Dashboard is filled with advertisements http://www.sticktwiddlers.com/2013/06/28/xbox-one-dashboard-created-with-advertising-in-mind/ 11. The xbone Dashboard in general is a complete mess that is hard to navigate (http://www.edge-online.com/features/xbox-why-the-baffling-incompetence-of-the-xbox-one-interface/) 12. PS4 didn’t make you buy a kinnect and then remove support for it 6 months later, effectivity screwing over early adopters 13. All Microsoft cares about is feeding you more ads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixqwOIByMAc&app=desktop 14. DixectX12 will not save the xbone or help game run at 1080p http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/187549-directx-12-is-coming-next-year-but-it-probably-wont-help-xbox-one-games-run-at-1080p 15. PlayStation platforms have exclusive content in Destiny 16. PS4 is the lead platform for Destiny 17. PS4 has the largest player base in Destiny of any of the 4 platforms, has more pre-orders than any other platform 18. Was able to render the Alpha and Beta in full HD 1080p, so there won’t be any nasty surprises when the game is fully released 19. Has controllers which don’t require AA batteries or firmware updates 20. PS4 doesn’t have a giant external power brick and the console itself is much smaller
-
I did have a PS4 and had pre-orded destiny, then a friend told me about halo collections, and a week later I had an xbox one
-
Honestly if you have no friends on xbox one, go ps4. It's just all around better to play destiny on. This is coming from an xbox one user.
