Not to flog a dead horse here but head sets with mics are not standard issue. Therefore, by this rationale, that makes using them cheating.

But every 360 and one comes with a communicator right out of the box. Therefore your theory applies to a specific console and not the market as a whole. Also ps3 (not sure about 4) would pair with any Bluetooth headset (which a vast amount of people have for their phone). To address the OP no it's not cheating, it's a standard input, Modding a controller is cheating, well more illegal as it requires modifying hardware you agree not to in the EULA, but it's also hard to prove, I often would exceed the rpm limit on standard controllers in MW2, my controller was not modded, but I was punished because of Modders. The M&K option only truly provides and advantage based on supported inputs. And mapping, if you can't remap options like lean and such it's not really and advantage
