Remember, remember, the Ninth of September.
The Fallen picked through the corpse strewn ground,
The poisonous Hive turned the Earth brown,
On the Red Planet, only Cabal can be found,
Our outlying colonies, in Vex, were drowned,
And the Darkness had descended upon us, all around,
But!
Remember, remember, the Ninth of September!
Though the Enemies of Man thought they had the upper hand,
And their monuments of self worship rose Cthonic and grand,
Their vile footmen numbering like the desert's sand,
There comes a force to make Mankind's Last Stand!
And so, I tell you, Brothers and Sisters,
Remember! Remember! The Ninth of September!
As from the Traveler's might came the strength of the Tower,
And from the Traveler's Light comes each Guardian's power,
That this be Earth's last Night, the Darkness' last hour,
As before we Guardians, Mankind's enemies cower!
And for generations to come, mothers sing to their daughters and sons as they lay them abed:
Remember, remember, the Ninth of September.
I know. Super cheesy. Just came to me today, hope you enjoyed it.
See you starside, Brothers and Sisters.
Day 2 Edit: Two days this thread has been kept at the top of page 1 in trending by all of you. Thank you all for all of your support, for all of the bumps and encouragement. I am truly astonished at how much you all seem to have liked this and I appreciate all of the kind words.
I will try to have something new in the next few days for you all.
Edit Day 4: It was brought to my attention that someone, whose name I will not mention, has copied and pasted my poem into the comments of the Weekly Update and is now claiming it as his own. He has even gone so far as to say he wrote the same poem word for word independently and we just had the exact same idea. This is fine, I don't really care that much, it is just a poem and it didn't really take that long, but all of us who have posted in here know who wrote it and where it came from. I am happy for the enjoyment you all have derived from my work and I will have a new poem for you all in not too long.
Thank you again for all of the support, you're wonderful.
Edit Day 4: Thank you to DestreaX, stVatricide, and Da Guy for standing up for me in the Weekly Update and pointing others toward my original post here. MetazoanZeus has edited his comment about 20 min before I am writing this to include the link to this thread, essentially giving credit for the poem back to me. I appreciate all of the support in this.
"The Charge of the Vanguard" is about half done, I will post it in a little bit.
Thank you again, all of you, for all of your support and encouragement!
Edit Day 4 #2: Here it is! "Charge of the Vanguard"

Soon both alien and guardians shall fall before my awesomeness. Also, this poem was sweet.
