So start something! Just because prox chat isn't enable doesn't mean we can't just agree to a procedure here on the forums. I propose that the "balcony" area of the tower (the area around and up the ramp to your left when you spawn) be the "hang out for raids area." If you want to raid, go hang out, dance, camp, whatever on this balcony; likeminded player will gravitate to this area and you can then use whatever communications methods you can find to setup a raid. Likewise, we can use the area back behind the Speaker's Alcove as the strike hangout area.

  • That's great and all but iirc the tower only supports 12 plays at a time, and how many of those players will be using this forum? Let alone be too busy doing other in game stuff to do a raid or not be level 20 yet...

  • There a no way the tower only holds 12 people there aren't different servers the is no limit to how many people can be in the tower

  • ...just stop for a second and think about it. How many people did you see in the tower at one given time? How big was the tower? Now think of how many people we're sting the beta. Those numbers don't add up for one server. It was either 12 or 16 but I'm certainly it wasn't more than that. I'm pretty sure each area can only load 12 players, that's why missions and explore looked pretty barren. Otherwise if it was all one for one region and one console it would be a massive cluster-blam!- of players. I'll try to find a link to where I saw it written anyways.

  • Okay not true when the beta first started on 360 the tower was filled with a retarded amount of people when I started the game and you can count 12 people and there was way more than 12

I keep seeing people say 16, and that's because it was the start of the game, everyone was in one spot, the main area.

  • Maybe the planets are 12 but not the tower

  • Agreed, but it would be easier for bungie to emplament a sign post or send you a message when you reach lvl 20 on where a designated area should be. So crowding wouldn't be an issue.

  • Here are the problems I see with this: If Bungie defines this area, then the presumption would be that people in the area would want to do the defined activity. This would likely be perceived as Bungie's fault when your ally leaves after ten minutes because their mother shut off their machine, or etc. We would all be crying, "Why Bungie? I trusted you to get me a fireteam!" If you were in the military, and you had the choice to either interview and select your own squad mates for a deadly mission, or to be assigned strangers by a higher ranking officer who knows nothing about the individuals (for the sake of the example): Which would you choose?

  • You would still have to friend invite the people you meet. The matchmaking will be totally on your shoulders. So I would say Choose Your Friends Wisely! Interview the people who want to join your raid.

  • at this late stage of the game, you're talking about an update or patch. The disks are burned and the digital content is archived. While I suppose Bungie could do a first day patch release, I would hope they don't (such release day patches scream "unfinished product")

  • All games get a patch on release day. But this would be a micro insert that they talk about in the dev docs on how they plan to update or patch post launch.
