Here are some things that are ticking me off in games.
1. Overusing invisible barriers. Yes I understand the need to block off certain areas. But do you really have to have invisible barriers on the roofs of buildings that should be well within reach? When I was playing the alpha and beta, I really wanted to explore the buildings and get a good view of the surrounding land. But I was foiled by a stupid invisible barrier. Bungie, you didn't have this problem with halos 1-3. You didn't give a damn if we found a way to get out of the level on campaign mode. Why did you suddenly start caring? Why do you care if I get on top of a building that by all logic, I should be able to access? Also, what's up with the "You are leaving the battlefield, turn back or die" messages? You say you want this game to be about exploration, but why can't we explore the crumbled buildings?? Why are we restrained by all these barriers?
2. Small text. When did it become a bad idea to have reasonably sized font? Yes I have a high-def TV and yes it is 1080p. Yet Destiny's text was still rather small and hard to read.
3.Getting rid of splitscreen. Yes I've heard of the reasoning behind splitscreen's exclusion: bungie wants the best graphics possible. Which sounded perfectly reasonable......until I heard that Bungie went with 30 FPS to have graphic parity across all systems. This seems to contradict their goal of having the best graphics possible. Which brings me to the next issue:
4. Graphics parity. Who gives a shit about it? It makes no sense to have 30 fps on ps4 just because other systems cannot do 60 fps. We aren't going to have cross-platform multiplayer, so why do you give a damn about graphics parity? Nobody is going to have an advantage due to better graphics. Plus, nowadays I actually get a headache from 30 fps on a HDTV. Don't get me wrong, Destiny runs very smoothly even with 30 FPS, but I still got a headache playing it. I had to take ibuprofen to ward off the pain.

OVERHYPING AND UNDER DELIVERING GAMES HAVE TO STOP IT

How can you play a game

Edited by The Smoker II: 8/18/2014 2:17:05 AM
I actually get a headache from 30 fps
You lost all credibility when you said that. Your saying less visual stimulation gives you a headache? You must get a migraine every time you close your eyes.

You seem to be in the wrong forum. Try the Feedback forum next time.
-
How did you ever manage to play any games before the 360 or ps3 if 30fps gives you a headache?
-
Can't take you seriously.
-
Why take ibuprofen when just 2 aleve will cure your aches and pains all day
-
Hehehehe nice troll
-
"No sense to have 30fps on ps4 because other systems cant handle 60" I see what you did there, well played sir well played.

I find I strongly agree with your point on small text. I'm indifferent regarding the graphics parity and could care less about split screen; however, I take direct issue with the removal of invisible barriers. They serve as our last line of defense from the Darkness should the Traveler's light go out. I say keep the barriers.
-
I know what building you're talking about and yes, I tried my damndest to get on top of it too lol
-
No one puts this much thought in a troll

I can't believe I agree with a troll

It's funny how game developers didn't want to take the time to code on ps3 cell chip and Sony had to suffer cause of it. Now sony has to suffer cause other consoles can't run full 1080p 60fps. I smell a conspiracy!
-
Woo hoo! Keep on sir! But, invisible barriers are known as blocking volumes. Update your post, so you can be as accurate as possible when addressing those silly devs.

'Exploring' outside of the intended area of any scenery is an EXPLOIT. If you pay attention to the new terms of use now these days. Exploits are violations to the Terms of Use and you can get punished for doing them. In Halo 2 and Halo 3, it was easier to 'explore' but it still falls under the category of cheating and players still got reported and banned for misusing 'exploits'. For example, who remembers the infamous 'Super Bounce' cheat in Halo 2? Invisible barriers are a way control areas because believe it or not. Players finding these little cheats are not at fault, it is the company who makes the games who takes the fault. So, you might as well delete that part of your moanings because I already can tell you intend to cheat. Nasty thing you.

I agree! In a youtube video DeeJ say that each version of destiny that they are making will be made to run the best that it can on that specific console, so where did graphics parity even come from. also i agree with pretty much everything else you are saying but that is the one that baffles me the most. for someone who i assume is usually trolling you hit some really good points.

Ridiculous in app purchases.
-
Wow, you didnt do a troll post... And I completely agree with pretty much all you said
-
You my friend are quite reasonable. I agree with you 100%.
-
I actually completely agree with you!
-
Wow I actually agree with all your points....so Bungie...please fix said problems?
-
Agree with the invisible barriers/return to the battlefield complaint. Major buzz kill.

I completely agree. There are a few issues so far, however, they might be fixed after the full game comes out. And while many fell that this would be a bad thing, I consider it better than a beta test. Every game has its flaws and weaknesses, and to be fixed after the full version of the game comes out only makes it easier and faster to do. It may look better to fix problems with a game in a beta test, but it is time consuming and is more expensive. If the full game comes out and they fix it then, they won't have to go through the hassle of opening a beta for a couple of weeks and then shutting it down. Instead, Bungie could go and just directly fix the game, while people are still playing it. I'd say that would be a much more cost affective move on their part. Anyways, that's my conclusion for today :)
