So i cant just not like competitive multiplayer in a game like Destiny? Some people like the exploration and the wonder and lore of the destiny universe over mindless killing in the Crucible
-
I love PvE but I was the top scorer half the time in PvP matches on the Beta. I'm not saying that won't change in the actual game, but I'm good at both.
-
I didn't like playing with the crucible noobs, too easy, exploring was just caught me more since I found it more entertaining
-
As far as I'm concerned, k/d means shit all in terms of player skill, for half the beta I let my PC playing friend play Crucible matches and it shows. There's a reason why nobody compares player skill to k/d in tried and true competitive games like Counterstrike because it doesn't take into account the player's strategic ability; someone may not be all that great at eliminating other players, but they may be really effective at map control and telling people what to do, where to go, etc. Furthermore, your K/d is irrelevant simply because there was no accurate ranking system in destiny's beta, so as far as we know, you were probably matched with people who had never even laid eyes on an fps, so gtfo, your argument is irrelevant.

Edited by BBreezy819: 8/16/2014 10:40:25 PMI support PvE fully I do give a f**k about private matches, and I wish they were in game. I almost always came in near the top of the scoreboards in the crucible. And last but not least Destiny is centered around the story and PvE. Your theory is invalid
-
People like you seriously piss me off. No, I don't give a flying -blam!- about private matches. I got pretty good at PVP the last two days, but I enjoyed PVE much more. That's what this game is for. It's based more for PVE than PVP. Grow up kid. Just because somebody doesn't like something, doesn't mean they suck at it. I hates cross country, but my 3.1 mile time was 16:44 and I did the sport 7 years.
-
Fix the paragraph where you make fun of people for playing against an alleged easy AI. 43 deaths in strikes is inexcusable. 19 kpd against the AI? Yikes! The point of good arguments is for them to be air tight.
-
actually pvp players gonna cry in pve mode
-
Well u can have fun in the crucible getting lower tier gear then u can get in pve(most powerful gear in the game). So no pve players dont suck at pvp. Pve players care about getting the most powerful gear in the game so that when they go into the iron banner where gear matters, then they will wipe the floor with people who have pvp gear compared to people with raid gear.
-
Edited by Thoracis: 8/16/2014 10:44:13 PMI don't normally play PvP games. I'm excited about Destiny for an FPS twist on the PvE RPG environment that I'm used to. I know my K/D sucks. I can only hope it gets better with experience. But on that note, no, I couldn't care less if there are private matches for PvP. It doesn't effect me. Why would I care? Edit: Also, if you're primarily a PvP who doesn't care about PvE then I'd be willing to bet my Strike/Raid skills and end game loadouts are better than yours, seeing as that's what I'm good at. So it will go both ways for everyone.
-
Terrible at first strike in the game. Will never complete a raid, proceed to cry about people with exotics, bitches about it and goes back to crappy cod. Cannot wait till pve forces these dummies back to cod.
-
I haven't posted in a while, but I have to say something here.... So let me ask you this? Do you take into account for example captures per game? Those tend to help the team score more points for each kill. That's how I help my team, I take the objectives, usually without being seen, since while your posted up somewhere killing people to keep your KDR up, I am completing the objective to support my team. Is my KDR good? Not at all! I don't care about KDR as many people don't. I capture about 8-12 times a game, and usually solo. That's how I measure how I do in OBJECTIVE based pvp. I bought this game to play the game. Private matches are to show off to your friends. I have had to sit through many private matches in COD cause someone wanted to prove how good they are compared to someone else. This game isn't about seeing who has a bigger **** it's about the community, friends, and becoming legend.
-
I don't care about private matches, and over 75% of the time I was on top of the scoreboard or my I'm beneath my clanmates.
-
Lol another 12 yo that plays on Xbox
-
You on ps or xbox?
-
REALIZATION OF PVP PLAYERS!!! While they are screaming and crying about private matches, k/d, and how everything is OP, everyone else will be enjoying the game. Because thats what games are for. Enjoyment. I personally went into pvp the last day or so of the beta and dicked around. Had a pretty good time as well.

Edited by RH Stealth: 8/16/2014 10:09:02 PMBy the gods. What a terrible generalization. I will (not modestly) use myself as an example. I prefer PvE, and will almost solely play PvE... But why is it that I went positive in my 2 games on PvE if I sucked? How can I play Halo Reach FFA slayer and expect to win or be in the top 3? How did I get a 20+ kill streak in a match? How can I get over half of my team's kills in SWAT? How is it that I can I hop on the disgrace of a game that is MW2 and expect to win an FFA? How did I come 2nd in two (online) Gears of War 3 tournaments? Preferring PvE does not mean a person sucks. Raids are going to be harder than PvP matches.
-
Don't pvp players such at pve. You should find out and make a thread about this.
-
Duuuuuhhhhhhhh But yeah I like both
-
I don't think I suck at pvp, and I enjoy the pve aspect way above pvp.
-
I am buying this game for PVE, If i wanted a PVP game then I will play COD Ghost, TitanFall & BF4. Why wait for destiny if the PVP is the same as any other FPS. Top guys in PVP played 24hrs a day, I bet on full release the same top guys will not be there after the first month. All the people getting pissed off becuz bungie not following the rules of all FPS, need to shut up & play with your self. If you cant understand the game is build 60% PVE 25%PvP & 15% Raids, u don't need it CANCEL YOUR PREORDER NOW!!!!!!
Hurry too Bi?ch, I need another Ghost Edition
-
I mean, I support PvE. And I have less kills because my internet wouldn't let me stay in PvP matches unless I had friends playing with me and I could just join the fireteam if lagged out. I could care less what they do with PvP, not because I don't care for it, but because I'll be trying to play it and not be worried about modes they didn't add. Bungie adds what they want, I play it. I'm not that picky of a person.
-
I have a crap K/D and I agree with you. I would have loved it if they had included private matches for PvP. I didn't play a lot of the Crucible because of working two jobs and my handle on the PvP for Destiny was kind of shaky but I still thought it was fun even though my K/D is .58
-
Private matches = skillful clan battles and intense 1v1. Don't even think about forgetting created game modes and dicking around with your clan mates! Pub lobbies = angry 10 year olds camping and yelling. Either your busy stomping the enemy team or your the one getting stomped. There is no middle ground and it ruins the pub experience. As a dedicated COD player with max prestige on nearly every COD game, and a 2.0+ in both Ghosts and BOII, I have grown quite annoyed with pub lobbies. I have played literally thousands of games in my COD career and I am at a point in which I don't play unless it's a full team or a private lobby.
-
I support private matches. I also prefer PvE aspects like raiding over PvP most of the time. On top of that, my K/D ratio was about 2.35. Generalizations are nasty things.
-
Even if you are right. Which I tend to agree to some extent. The vast majority of players are here for pve. Many (like me) won't even touch pvp because we don't have the time or want to expend the effort required to be "skilled" so in general, since we are the majority we will get what we want. Sorry but this game is pve focused. Get on the bandwagon or go home. Just the way it is.
