Bungie has stated that they fully support split-screen but the lack of it is to give the players a better experience. Some people just enjoy kicking back with a few friends (In real life) and playing a game together, hard to grasp guys I know. It's a very real thing that people can't afford several $400 consoles and multiple copies of the same $60 game and they should be entitled to as good of an experience on a lower budget.
