That's like a high school Bball player that loves Bball but Hates NBA..
I hate how it's casual vs. competitive (hardcore) players in the forums..
Shouldn't we be helping each other to make a game that we all love to be better?
How can private matches hurt or spoil the fun for casual gamers?
Edit: well at least we ALL agree, that private matches won't hurt anyone by adding it to the game. Thank you for the posts, I have a bigger understanding for both sides.

Typically it's not actual MLG that's being hated on but the atmosphere of it (trash talking) and the gamebattles people from MLG. Not actual MLG players.
-
They should have custom games, and custom game room browser with public/private option
-
Elitist assholes. It's what turns me off of it at least.

Edited by cj1b4u: 8/16/2014 3:07:37 PMCasuals will do shiz intentionally just for laughs at the cost of losing a game, and then not care they lost the game. MLG players tend to hate losing.

what is MLG? and what is mend with private matches? is this a duel 1 against 1 or do you mean clan battles with it?

So I've seen a general Idea going around. People are saying they hate MLG players (which pretty much exclusively means Esports players) because they just take the game way too seriously and that makes it no fun for the other less serious (casual) gamers. Honestly I don't understand that argument one bit. I have been playing Halo all my life, and have lost many games to teams of people who are training to go to MLG (Esports). This did not make the game any less fun, because you can't hear the enemy team. Or I couldn't cause I knew what a mute button was. So on my end, all I saw was a bunch of players way better than me, and I lost. Done. Simple. No trashtalking because they couldn't. No less fun, because it just meant my team lost faster than usual. The only time I see "MLG" players being jerks is on the internet. And only maybe 5% of those people where actually in MLG. "people take the game too seriously so it's not fun when I play with them" Okay.. Each to his own..? If you joined the army, you dont join because "oh I enjoy it, it's super fun and it doesn't matter who wins." First off: NO. Anyone who thinks like that gets shot in the head the moment they go in the field. If you join the army, it's because You take it seriously! So saying that I hate MLG players because they are too serious is like saying "I hate soldiers because they actually want to stay alive". This is SUCH a stupid argument!! It literally makes no sense! If professional players (or even people who have competitive personalities) make you upset, good for you. No one cares, because you can either mute them, avoid them ingame, or simply join a new game. It's the same in real life. If someones personality clashes with yours, you simply don't go around with that person. I know many people I just cant get along with so we just don't see eachother. We don't go crying to our friends because they annoyed us. People are so self-entitled these days and it makes me sick. Humanity is dead. ME is alive. Society is retarded in this age, and every day I find myself wanting to die even more so I don't have to suffer such inhumanity anymore. My ranting is finished, as I felt I needed to let off some steam in a (hopefully slightly) mature (yet frustrated) manner. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this with a clear attitude and not a "MLG is crap I hate pro's" mindset.

Because FaZe and OpTiC happened
I hate cod clans. Ill miss mlg halo reach matches
-
Because MLG hates "casuals"... Such a stupid term anyway... It all boils down to the attitude of MLG...
-
The problem isn't MLG players, it's 12 year olds (mentally or physically) that say they're MLG players. If there was a way to restrict the use of the word MLG and ESport to people that have participated in a national/international tournament, then the use of those terms would undoubtedly drop by 90% and these kids would get exposed as the try hards they are. It's no different then your stereotypical high school jock asshat or ed hardy douche bag who think they're big and bad and end up flipping burgers, brewing coffee, or cleaning toilets.

Maybe it's because casuals play games for fun and don't care too much about K/D or efficiency of headshots. MLG players and wannabe's turn a pastime into a job. Maybe it's because most MLGers are dicks and don't know good manners or how to be gracious losers. Like that string of League of Legends, Streetfighter scandals that happened a couple of years ago.

Edited by mrxcrom: 8/16/2014 6:37:23 PMThe reason I assume (and you know what happens to someone who assumes) is that M.L.G. is about "skill" and "efficiency", but for some odd reason the majority of people decided to throw efficiency out the window (excluding the actual major league gamers). As a result, the majority of casual gamers have been ridiculed and harassed for their inability to cope with these elitist standards that are not established by pro-gamers but by the people as an excuse for their death or loss of the game.
-
Edited by Flawless : 8/16/2014 6:42:05 PMNobody hates real MLG. They hate all of the wannabe fake idiots that run around acting like they're pro gamers. When all they really did was go and register on the MLG website

Just trying to add constructive thought: How does custom matchmaking work normally? I know it involves one person hosting and game type, etc. but I don't know how Halo custom matches worked.

I'm a psychopath in games but little know I'm playing for fun.
-
Because casuals don't want to admit that there are people who are better than them at the game. Some people prefer an easy COOP game where everyone gets to win, and some people like challenge and competition in their lives.

Regular CoD gamer tag [MLG] xxxXXXSup0rQu1kSc0p3sW33DSandwhichMLGNOSCOPEXXXxxx
-
Because casuals can't handle MLG players if I were to go up against MLG players ( I'm not a casual ) my team would rage quit at least I have the balls to not quit and try my best to win
-
because elitists are assholes
-
I don't hate MLG. But I do find it hilarious when it's described as a "sport". It's about as much of a sport as competitive eating is.
-
I never had a problem until now, I'm so tired of hearing these people cry about no private lobbies when the game is not even released yet.
-
MLG players are to good. People dont like when people are good at something.
-
I like playing with groups of skilled players who work well together but not (at least for me) when you say MLG I think of Douche-Bros who watch youtube looking for glitches and exploits instead of actually playing the way you're supposed to. I remember gaming back on Call of Duty 2 when it seemed like it was just people playing against people, no glitches, no exploits, just strategy and reflexes. Now it's about shooting from the top of your head or hiding in rocks or flying around. I miss "the good old days".
-
Because they say things like casual
-
I really enjoy playing against good players, makes the game fun. If I get beat by a great player, then it makes me more determined to become a better player. You can only become a better player by playing a more skilled opponent.
-
If you don't like clan battles, ladders, and tournaments fine. But don't hate on us that do want the feature and are disappointed by the lack of it. We are after all talking about a game made by the same people who made Halo, a game with a huge population of clans and tournaments. That could be a part of this game IN ADDITION TO THE GREAT PVE.
