Why do casuals hate MLG?
That's like a high school Bball player that loves Bball but Hates NBA..
I hate how it's casual vs. competitive (hardcore) players in the forums..
Shouldn't we be helping each other to make a game that we all love to be better?
How can private matches hurt or spoil the fun for casual gamers?
Edit: well at least we ALL agree, that private matches won't hurt anyone by adding it to the game. Thank you for the posts, I have a bigger understanding for both sides.

I'm a hardcore gamer not a casual but I hate MLG the whole community associated with that scene is awful I don't want them anywhere near this fantastic new game I hated cod because the community sucked and people wanting to be "MLG Pro" just ruin games

While I can't speak for anyone else, I hate you because of your elitist attitude and insistence on referring to non MLG gamers as "casuals". I'm 23 years old, I've probably been gaming for longer than you've been alive. I've certainly been gaming for longer than most of your ilk, I can guarantee you that. That doesn't mean to say I hate MLG gamers. No, quite to the contrary, I'm sure most of them are perfectly good people. I just hate the ones like you. Take a long hard look at yourself. You're most likely in your late teens/early twenties, great at videogames but not much else (any real sportsman would scoff at the idea of gaming being a sport). And you just compared yourself to an NBA player. A world class athlete earning about $20,000,000 a year. I'd be surprised if you could even dribble a basketball for more than three bounces before it flew off the court.

And let's define "hardcore" shall we: I've been gaming since 1986, I'm 33 and put a shit ton of hours into gaming I have fun with pvp always have but my kd ratio is a little lacking, and I honestly wouldn't mind some MM for raids and what not. That being said would I be considered casual, as I'm not super competitive, laid back or hardcore cause I game pretty much more than I work lol. I just call my self gamer, as the lines for casual and hardcore are a bit blurry for me.

You tell me why MLG players are complaining that the game is not being catered to their competitiveness. This is Bungie's home court son. We don't need no rulebooks and referees. This will be played by Bungies rules. If the don't do matchmaking, oh well. If they put it in later, oh well. People will be all over this forum antagonizing those people that have different views. Actually that's true for just about everything in life. There's nothing good or bad about this. It's just a game. One that I am sure I will enjoy with my friends, regardless of what other people want it to be like.

I hate mlg players but unfortunately I have to deal with them so I make sure I make them rage quit for all the casuals out there. We were all in your shoes at one point. #respect

Fantastic you can achieve something that someone else could given enough time and practice...... you are a significantly better person and entitled to throw around words like "noob" "Scrub", and the ever present in video gaming derogatory term for a homosexual. 6 RepliesHere's why I don't I like Pro gamers. Let's say there is a sport invented, and you love it to no end. You play it every day, and just have fun. Then people turn it into a competition. Ok, nothing bad, just seeing who is better. Then it turns into big tournaments, with prizes and stuff. Finally it boils into MLG. Still nothing wrong. The problem I have is when those MLG players start asking for things to be put in the game, or taken out so that it can be more competitive. 9/10 what they want sucks the fun out of it for us. Prime example is Call of Duty. Call of duty had a robust campaign, decent set of vehicles to use, and just was over all fun. Now it is centered around MLG players, so the campaign is lacking, it's the same thing every year because that's what the pros want, and you just don't enjoy that game you used to love.Now all we have to look forward to is a the side games that ship along with CoD. In short, I don't mind pro gamers, I do care about Developers shifting there game to focus on them. I'm all for private matches though. I wish they were here.But PvE will be a blast.

2 RepliesWell let's look at it this way: Both PvE and PvP have a portion of their player population known as asshats. Given that PvP by its nature draws more competitive player. Thus PvP tends to have a higher percentage of competitive asshats. These competitive asshats generally make their way to forums, as asshats of all stripes are want to do, and begin to give normal PvP players a bad reputation. Now PvE asshats often show up as your more traditional "troll". They aren't as directly aggressive as the PvP asshats, but they certainly make up for it with loads of passive-aggression. The prime example of this would be an individual who is not planning on playing PvP but takes some twisted joy from the PvP players not having an option like custom games. Additionally PvE and PvP asshats are often sickeningly proud of finding exploits to avoid having to actually achieve things through normal game play or skill. Thus ends our presentation.

I consider myself competitive but i can't stand them that's all they do is bitch and moan, i remember being on the forums for halo reach and that's they would do was bitch the game wasn't made for them.

MLG----misaligned louse group............MLG is some of the most crap talking rude gamers for the most part.yes not all are jackasses but the ones that are present a horrible image of the group. I'm 51 and been gaming since ninetindo . Ya campin bitches..........that sentiment is the dying words for CoD.....they talk skill matches which to me is bull crap.........can you make a soldier out of anyone...for the most part yes, and only a select few have the intelect to be a startegist, and even fewer to be a sniper...........they hate campers cause they can't out shoot a sharp strategy........battles are not fought by soldiers running around running and gunning........they are fought in battle planned tactics of tactical advantage points to hold and defend.........but that being said .they ( MLG) are entitled to like what ever style of play they want..........But not to mouth and ruin the gaming atmosphere with arrogant attitude . They will soon learn that game style is going to die out sooner than later............CoD has sucked ever since black ops......and has steady got to be just a release of new faces on the same game............BORING........................I plan on enjoying Destiny with alot of my friends.............and I wish you all lots of fun driving the darkness back to hell.........

Alot of people in mlg have the "^*%k measuring contest attitude all the time & are over obsessed with stats to the point where its more of a job than having some fun/entertainment. I don't really have a problem with them but some of them act like a dumb jock in high school thats juicing roids. Of course some casuals are that way too
