All ARs need more recoil and spread. This shows why it needs it.

I think it would be better just to lower the effective range on auto rifles. This would make other weapons seem like they have a role.

Exactly as is in PvP auto rifles are the most used weapon and can fight against scouts. That's a problem because pulse should fit between the two but isn't seen in pvp

Yes, but then people start complaining that their AR can't hit things firing full auto mid range. More recoil and an actual bullet spread would help immensely, and make using other weapons a viable strategy. As of now, PRs have more spread and recoil than ARs do, and PRs only fire in bursts. Would shortening the effective range to short-shortmid help? Yes, absolutely. But since many, many encounters occur in that range, it'd still outclass a shotgun often enough to be an issue, and would still make using Hand Cannons obsolete.

I see your point but the AR still has to have a role and useful too. There is a lot to be done to fix the hand cannon. I for one think it should have a x4 for crit instead of the usual x3 making it very feasible for those who like to headshot and this would fix is very short range too. Upping the recoil and bullet spread would create an unpredictable weapon that's too inconsistent. The forums would be alight with complaints that it's too random ie it kills in 0.5secs or 2.5 regardless of skill. Though one things for sure it needs something done to it I just think a strong range nurf would be easiest and make the weapon more specialised. Tho you are right about the maps and the shotgun too. A decrease in the spread and a small one at that might up the shotgun without making it op. And as for the maps, well we've yet to see them all but I think they will all be of a small to medium size so the SR and HC will only really come into their own on the med maps. Tho there should be maps in which certain weapons do feel more suited.
