DAHM RIGHT I AM YEAHYA!
-
Not you! Lol
-
What about me lol.
-
Dude, they're breaking records!
-
Yeah. I had a lot of fun in the beta. The only thing that disappointed me was the explore mode. I expected to be spending most of my time in the game on explore, just, you know, exploring, but the gamemodes' name isn't really true to itself when you know the whole map of Old Russia after about an hour of gameplay.
-
You know what? I wish you and I could head back to Old Russia. No, really: I really wish we could just head over there now! Then we'd explore some more. I can guarantee I'd still be showing you stuff you never knew existed 20 hours later. Maybe beauty is in the eye of the beholder but, man... this world has been lovingly crafted with exquisite attention to detail. I'd much rather have a smaller world crafted with so much care than an empty wasteland twice the size of Skyrim. But, hey, that's just me. ;) See you starside.

Someone who saw the trees through the forest. Nicely put.

Edited by Inuheishi: 8/13/2014 12:59:08 AMKeep in mind that this was an older build of the game, certain parts that we're blocked off then could be open now. And also you did NOT get to explore all of old Russia during the beta.
-
I got to explore all that was available to explore in the beta. What they add in the full release will not be enough to at least double the size of what we had in Old Russia.
-
It won't? SOURCE?!
-
Logic. There weren't THAT many places blocked off in Old Russia.
-
I don't recall ANYTHING blocked off in Old Russia. The only places I was unable to go was off cliffs and the roof of Skywatch (which was above the ceiling of the game.
-
In old Russia I would run into a doorway every five minutes that was dark and wouldn't let me in
-
Ohhh, so we saw the edges of the map, and all the doors were just rooms then? Wait, so your logic tells us that there are only a couple crucible maps!? WTF Bungie!! And wait, even though there were other locations supposedly in this game, I didn't see them on my beta map- there is no way they could add tjem in and make them big enough! Damnit Bungie, good thing Grasheeno and his infallible logic are here to open our eyes to your deceptions- cancelling my preorder now...
-
And Kings Watch, one of the doors that was blocked off, could be broken through using a glitch. Once inside, you could see there wasn't much more to the map behind that door. I'm not saying all blocked off doors were like this, but this one, if used as an example, wouldn't make the map much bigger if put behind every blocked door.
-
Yeah, we saw the edges of them map. Water. And places where you fell off and died. And no, we didn't see all the doors, but there definitely weren't enough to double the map in size. And Bungie confirmed more Crucible maps. Show me where they confirmed the Old Russia map to be double the size it was in the beta.
-
Hmm, I seem to remember there being a big gate stopping me from getting outside the cosmodrome- definitely not enough room out there to be big- and how have you come by this Old Russia x2 as your benchmark? Here's an idea- save your bitching until the game comes out?
-
Old Russia x2 as the benchmark happened when you asked me how I knew it wouldn't be x2 in the full game.
-
That was a question geared towards your lack of knowing exactly what is actually going to be in the game. None of us know for certain.
-
You've got 3 or 4 other planets to visit all with Explorable zones.
-
Yeah, that's great! But it would mean a lot more to me if There were just one huge world instead of 5 rather small ones.
-
So you want to play your space game on earth? Skip all the going to other worlds? Sounds like loads of fun...
-
That's kind of breaking the point of the game.
-
Yeah, given your point I agree. Maybe 5 huge worlds. It's unrealistic, but sounds incredible.
-
As desirable those 5 worlds are, I highly doubt that they would ever attempt to create such large maps, mainly because of the fact that the games are developed for current gen consoles too. Whenever Destiny 2 or whatever it's name is comes out, it'll be next gen only, giving Bungie more disc room to work with. I'll be looking forward to that, and I think you should look forward to it as well. Maybe then "explore" mode will actually allow you to go climb that mountain.
