not everything has to be tradeable. They could limit only common and uncommon goods to be traded. This way its a good way to help players get a head start on things for themselves if they haven't had any luck. Like for example getting the same 2 reward types for the last 4 strikes in a row. Bloody head piece and hand cannon.

  • Head start = preorder and get vanguard armory, which will be useless by level 8, if not sooner. You don't need anything else.

I was thinking more like level 18-20 and you still cant find that fusion rifle with fast charge or low recoil, maybe it was a good scout rifle with the right bonus's you want. I am not going to say we can trade the best items in the game but give us a way to help out others who are starting to get into end game strikes if the have not been lucky with gear. That is all.

  • I doubt you'll be at 18-20 and that unhappy with your gear. If you are, it's just incentive to play and have fun. Trading isn't fun. There's no auction house or materials to farm, so I see zero point.

I do doubt it. All the merchants we saw so far only had loot for level 20s that was not randomly generated by luck. Also we do have materials to farm, we picked up random amounts of spinmetal from time to time, weapon upgrade parts, armor upgrade, Helium Filaments, We dont even know what else we will need or have ingame to upgrade items. I think at this point though the game will have to be out before we really know. At this time we are both speculating if a trade system would be useful as well. Speculating is just annoying to do some days. So I would like a simple trade system, nothing fancy at all. Just trade the green weapons and armor. Maybe the blue equipment at most to help out others when you know they need it and we dont want it or need it, We could have different opinions but i see no reason to not have a simple trade system for white and green item, blue at most as i said,

  • Then go out and level till your 20 so you can buy the stuff from the merchants or quartermasters.... But gear from merchants isn't the same as loot. That's all boring shit that everyone will have anyway until they get better gear from loot. Plus, your gear is only relevant for short periods of time until you hit the level cap and need to max out for endgame content. As far as the materials, I guess my meaning wasn't clear. Because there are no trades or crafting in Destiny (unlike WoW) there is no need to farm or purchase large quantities of traditional MMO mats (100 iron ore, for example). The materials we get in the field can only be used to upgrade our own gear. There's no point in trading that, either. You should have to go forage if you want to upgrade. Basically, I'm a fan of playing to progress yourself, not taking shortcuts.

  • Ugh I sincerely hope not. I was really hoping to earn The Comedian with a buttload of Vanguard marks. What makes you say level 8?

  • I'm referring to the Vanguard Armory items that you get for free with preorder, not items purchased from the Vanguard Quartermaster with Vanguard marks. Vanguard Armory items are only Uncommon with 67 attack and no upgrades. That's why I said level 8, because my guess is we'll start picking up better loot right around then.

  • I had no idea how the preorder bonus worked. Worse yet, I have it, and was clueless. I thought it was getting access to the vendor without having to gain a reputation or unlocking it in some way. Thank you very much for clearing up my misunderstanding.

  • The thing is, items at that level are so common it's such a moot point to even call it "trading" anymore. There's no real coveting a common or green, it's more like "oh I'm tossing this; do you want it instead?" Weapons at that level can be blown through so quickly, or bought in-game shops.
