CoD doesn't innovate. Devs said they don't want to innovate too much. That's why people call it an unoriginal piece of shit. Because it is. Because if they innovate and change, the CoD fanbase is gonna shit a brick.
Every time CoD tries to change and mix up the formula, or shows something mildly interesting... it just ends up feeling half-assed. I'm sure the short development cycle has something to do with it, but I know that's not all it is.

Seems to me like they've changed it up quite a bit. The exo abilities seem like they'll significantly alter the feel of the game.

People said the same thing about the millimeter scanner, the heart dot and the AGR. It all ended up feeling exactly like the good 'ol Call of Duty everyone knows. Trust me, it's gonna feel and play almost identical to previous CoDs. You either love it or you hate it. If you hated past CoD titles, chances are you're gonna hate this one too. If you like them, you're gonna like this... because it's gonna feel and play almost exactly the same.

Though I see your point, I'd hardly equate a single score streak or attachment to an entirely new gameplay mechanic.
