Hey Guys,
These are my thoughts about what the Third Subclasses will be in Destiny. I cover Destiny on my channel by the way. Tell me what you thought of the video and most importantly, Have a great day!

Bungie already told us in a Video, that, after you lock a subclass, you get this subclass a second time, and you can level it up again to experiment with different settings. Sorry guys, no 3rd subclass.

Great video

Edited by Cardinal Erebus: 8/17/2014 4:54:13 AMThere are 2 subclasses and 1 or 2 bonus slots for a subclass you want to experiment on. Once you find a good subclass build you can lock it then it opens a new slot to restart and experiment, so say i have a good defender class and lock it, it will then open a new slot to make another defender class to take a different approach. Even during one of the destiny Vidocs they said even after you've finished the game and maxed everything you can still come back and always evolve the guardian and tailor it to which ever you want. It was also in a coverage for the endgame raids. Sorry but there are no 3rd brand new subclasses, nice try though.
-
There won't be a 3rd subclass, at least not at launch.
-
Awesome video
-
Sweet video man. Keep up the good work!
-
More sub classes make the game more confusing to play. Even now in forums we have kids not understand what we are talking about in the game. Bungie needs to be careful not to make destiny too confusing for younger players or it will loose them because of confusion.
-
My thought was we unlock what is behind that blank curtain after we lock our first two sub classes. Hopefully we don't just get the bufs for locking the classes. I hope this fuels the fire going on in ur minds.
-
Sweet nice video thanks for the ideas.
-
6 min video for something that can be explained in about 20-50 seconds. Nevertheless I've had similar thoughts on the subject and agree with your theory.
-
Nice...one of the best theories or opinions on why they believe there is a third subclass. Also you had one hell of a round there jeez
-
other than a void for hunter, a sol for titan and an arc for warlock its impossible to say
-
I'm sorry but that video was incredibly monotone. I couldn't even get to the part where you talk about your predictions.
-
Create a subclass!
-
Well my opinion is if u havnt noticed there are 3 kinds of damage (not counting the standard kinetic damage) void, solar, and arc damage hunter has the golden gun and arc blade solar and arc the warlock has nova bomb and radiance solar and void the Titan fist of havoc and defender shield arc and void... So we can assume since there are three subclasses warlock will have an arc attack Titan a solar attack and hunter a void attack

If you can, take the time to explain some tactics in fps for alot of people like quick scoping, jump shots, drop shots etc. Theres a skill in warlock tree that makes jump shots easier by holding you in place in the air when aiming. So the developers intended these tactics. (I myself was drop shotting in beta since people aimed for your shoulders and let the recoil tag your head)

Edited by Blackat9: 8/11/2014 9:47:50 AMI think you should change the title. Rather than "Destiny 3rd subclass predictions" it should be "Destiny 3rd subclass prediction" No I'm not trying to be spelling/grammar -godwinslaw!-. In the video you don't predict what the 3rd subclasses will be, only that there will be a 3rd subclass. The concept itself isn't alien. There have be plenty of threads where people point out the obvious; there are 3 elements and each guardian only has access to 2 of said elements. There is one extra slot open on the subclasses from the Beta. Many quickly surmised that there might be a 3 subclass with the missing element. While I'm not totally against the idea I'm rather doubtful. For the most part there was talk of how when a subclass is locked in (the very last option on the end which locks the second from the last option) a new subclass of that same type can be obtained to relevel. So the empty slot is for that extra orb. After seeing so much of Voidwalker, Striker, and Gunslinger we're all itching to access Sunsinger, Defender, and BladeDancer. And yet a part of us wants to see even more beyond that. I too am on that boat, but still I am very doubtful we'll see such surprise right away (maybe further down the line?) The other reason is simple; Paper, Rock, Scissors It ruins the balance. Let me explain. Fireteams are composed of 3 guardians. As it stands now your team will always have a variety. Putting weapons aside you'll need certain elements for mission vs certain enemies and mobs. The elements not only give each job their super, but a potent melee and grenade attack. Beyond a weapon with the right energy type, these guys can dish out the element needed on a larger scale. Going against Fallen, well we need some Arc damage. Fireteam needs a Hunter or Titan. A Warlock, a Hunter, and Titan. Or perhaps two Titans and a Hunter. Warlock and two Hunters. Perhaps Void damage is required. Well grab a Warlock or a Titan and head out. Solar? Warlock or Hunter will fill in the gap. Just tossing the final element to each job no matter the characteristics ruins any chance of variety. People will truly go the "HUNTERS ONLY!!111!!!!1!!!" or any other ridiculous class superiority rant. It's about teamwork. Wanting the classes to work together, requires them to need one another. Every class can use any weapon. Imagine if the game had weapon restrictions. Hunters could only use snipers and hand cannon. Titan only had access to the heavy machine gun and auto. Warlock could only equip scout and rocket. That would really change the team dynamic. People would put more thought into the class they choose as well as who they allowed into their fireteam based on the mission. Rather than make that restrictive they're trying to do something similar with subclasses. Like I said, I do hope I'm wrong as I wouldn't mind a 3rd class to work with. Still I can live with how things are. Now for the video itself. It's not bad by any means, but it's not terribly good. It was a rather large wind up for a short pitch. Reviewing the current subclasses took the bulk of the vid. You didn't really leave much else to discuss. Rather flat. Since you were already speculating, why not go for broke? Suggest possible builds. Look at the relationships each guardian has with their elements. Possible variations of their grenades of the supposed new class. Otherwise it almost the same as the other post made here on the Bungie forum. If you're going to put yourself out there, go out there. Keep at it. EDIT: So happens one of those "There will/should be a 3rd calls threads" http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/67506467/0/0

When you lock in your subclass you get another one to level up. People have not realised Thats Wgy that slot is there. Ohh well. Great ideas tho!

hmmmm, we will find out. Proud member of the group everyone is talking about THE GRIMGUARD

How about magnetism for the Warlock third? Magnetism is electric, and so is the Arc element. Imagine having your grenade slot either pushing an enemy away, pulling them towards you, or freezing them in place. Then your melee could be a little zap, and your super could be magnetizing someone like Mag's power in Warframe, so they attract bullets.

Edited by SaferMurderweapon: 8/10/2014 8:20:25 AM3rd Hunter is the Boogeyman. 3rd Warlock is Dr Thunderchocolate. 3rd Titan is basically Solaire from Dark Souls. Solaire: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzc2410F1J1qbn3hqo1_400.png

I agree with your theory completely, but there is another point that you missed that I think follows the trend. I'll go over your stuff again briefly for those who didn't watch the video and add my speculations/input that I feel you missed in brackets. Titan FoH: arc, offensive, [close range] Titan void barrier: void, support [close range, but all support supers should be mid to close range. Titan's 3rd: solar, [offensive], [long range] Summary: titan has one close range offensive, and one support super. The 3rd I believe will be long range. Warlock nova bomb: void, offensive [mid/long range] Warlock sun singer: solar, support, [mid/close range] Warlock 3rd: arc, [offensive], [close range] Summary: warlock has a ranged offensive super, and a support super. It would make sense that the last one is close range. Hunter GG: solar, offensive, long ranged Hunter arc blade: arc, offensive, close ranged Hunter 3rd: void, support, close/mid range. Summary: hunter has a long and close ranged offensive super. it makes sense that the last one is a support one.
-
You also missed the trend what differant elements trend.
-
I would say it's just a light subclass or something O:
