You and another person should be able to hit like R3 and then chat with each other. That way it would be mutual.

Maybe something like with borderlands when someone wanted to dual it would inform you; however, it would show someone wants to chat instead. If we can not get proximity chat. At least let us chat easier without having to join someone's (full) team. It may be easier this way too so people can get to know one each other better for the raids. You want to be with the person who is saying something beneficial rather than a person who just wants to tag along, not help very much, and just gain the extra exp. and loot without contributing much. Anything is better than nothing, but I really feel like a proximity chat would be the best option. If you have it turned on, you've already decided you don't mind chatting with people so having to request it everytime is just an unnecessary step that will make conversation less likely
-
True, I would prefer the proximity chat over having to constantly join but maybe that can be added to those that put on an option like chat when invited only or something like that. These people do not want to be heard by everyone but those that want to speak to him or her can just interact with said person through this form of chat. But like you said anything is better than nothing, even the chat only with friends is better than not being able to speak to one another at all.
-
That's a good idea. If you can pick between Public; Friends only; Off; the chat invite would make sense in friends only
-
Well, if everyone has the ability to turn off the proximity chat at will, then anyone who could hear you would already have decided they're okay with it. So the r3 would just be an unnecessary step I think

True. Yeah I dunno man lol

I'm just hoping bungie will see enough threads just like this one and take the hint haha
