Besides...main will be an Exo; we already fought one war for humanity, look where that got us. Dead in the trunk of a Lada in Nowheresgrad.

Haha, fair enough, but where do you plan to run?
-
Why run? Once I'm out of the solar system I'll just set an alarm, power down and drift. The Darkness won't pay any more attention to me than they would to a toaster. Maybe Alpha Centauri. :)

That's where you might find yourself the recipient of a nasty surprise. Your a guardian whether you like it or not, and the darkness is the Traveler's ancient enemy. If after every one else is dead and gone, you would remain the last light of the Traveler in existence. Then it comes looking for you and its only a matter of time. But I guess a Universe with no one in it wouldn't be much fun to live in anyway, so perhaps you'd welcome the end when it finally arrived. The amount of time you survive depends on whether the darkness can sense light, and if it can't, whether or not it can find any trace of your existence. If you can make both of these answers no by a combination of luck and trail covering, maybe you'll stand a chance at... getting out to Alpha Centauri all alone to...I guess eventually die as the last of your species of natural causes. This works better if you bring people with you, including, [and I use this word only due to biological imperative], a harem of diverse females and of course a number of males too. Way harder to go undetected, but the only real way to avoid a loss to the Darkness by attrition.
