I havent seen these threads, but im assuming what they are butt hurt about is that some people got exotic gear by turning in an uncommon engram, i only got a bunch of rare gear and one legendary from it, but a few people got exotic gear from a green engram or so i have read.
Some people think that if an engram is a certain color then that should be what you get from it.
I really like that its random and the color only affects a chance system from the cryptarch, sure it might be frustrating to get a white piece from an engram that should be better but thats the breaks.
i personally plan to get all of my exotic gear from the agent of the nine vendor, i like what he has to offer.

Same here. I'm gonna be stocking up on strange coins. I just need to know where to find them

I got all of my strange coins from daily gold tier event rewards, which is a random reward, but i think i was reading that once the full game launches there will be other ways to get them but im not sure what other ways they mean

That's where I got mine from, but I only got a handful. Four at most think. Then I had something called ascendant energy. It was weird.

Yeah i have that to, iv been searching around and i cant find anything about what its used for. all i can tell is that its used to upgrade something, maybe in combination with glimmer to make weapons hit harder or give armor more defense, but i havent seen any that use it yet. i have seen armor and weapons that use the other material items and thats why i think that is what its for.

People get exotics from legendaries, when u decrypt an uncommon, you can get a common, uncommon, or rare, if you decrypt a rare you can get a uncommon,rare, or legendary if you decrypt a legendary, rare,legendary,or exotic

I also think the cryptarch lv is a factor also. It might be a modifier that increase your chance for rare items as well as what LV items you can buy.

oh yes this is true, i forgot to mention that. im pretty sure the guardians who got exotic gear from cryptarch had a ridiculously high cryptarch level which they claims is the reason they got exotic gear from him

I was at lvl 15. The only thing above average I got was 2 rare guns and 1 rare class item.

Personally I would love to see how much it effects that. Knowing how these games are I bet it's small. Like you said you more than likely need a very high LV to even have a shot at one.

i thought so to but i have gotten both rare and common gear from uncommon engrams so its based on a random chance that cryptach will decode it properly, enhance it, or completely ruin it.
