  • Some things it seems people are in need of reminding about: Aside from supers, there are pretty much just as many OHK weapons in Destiny as in most other competitive shooter. Actually, since destiny grenades don't OHK, you can go ahead and add the supers and I still think it has fewer OHK options than something like Battlefield. Speaking of supers, it's not like I can just blast nova bombs left and right whenever you want. These things take several minutes, or a huge killstreak, to power up. There's nothing that specifically tracks super kills in pvp, but I would say that only about 10% of my kills are from nova bomb. This small portion of my kill total does not "completely invalidate Destiny's competitive multiplayer." PVP is hard. People will always be smarter and sneakier than AI. Some people are very good at manipulating AI, and it makes them very good at pve. This will do you no good in pvp, where you have to use psychology to your advantage, not algorithms. You can get the pvp gear with a minimum of pvp play. I don't know how many of you noticed this, but giving stacks of 40 spinmetal (or any planetary gatherable resource) to the crucible bot gave you crucible marks and rep. Your preferred game type will not exclude you from the gear you want. In fact, pvp-centric players are the ones who will be excluded, since there is no way to obtain vanguard gear from pvp play. Time to kill varies from game to game. In the Halo series, time to kill is very long, and protracted duels are common and concentrated fire is your biggest advantage. In games like CoD and Battlefield, getting the drop on someone is the best way to win a fight, and duels are decided in a couple seconds. Destiny is between those two extremes, where it takes more than 4 bullet from my AR to someones torso to take them out, but I'm also not blowing a full magazine on one dude. Plus, even with space armor, how many bullets could YOU take before being combat ineffective? We all want Destiny to be everything we ever wanted, but just remember that Bungie is trying to craft an experience everyone can enjoy, so they are going to work just as hard on the things you like as the things you don't. Stay vigilant, Guardians.
