I can see it now: people that lose in the crucible no longer use lag as an excuse, but "aim assist noobs".

I cannot play this game because of the aim-assist function and I am not being elitist... I have played many FPS games over the span of a decade, however this aim-assist is nothing more than frustrating... I actually get pissed off, even in PvE, as my retical starts to track an enemy... or as I turn to do a 180, and the controller acceleration goes to 0% because it thinks I'm trying to aim at the (insert random alien name here) in the corner...
-
Notice that I didnt say "turn off aim assist universally" or "aim assist too stronk please nerf".
-
Yeah, I never said it would be universal. I'm saying that people will act elietist because "I'm not a noob using aim assist. That's why you killed me/your KD is better."
-
Can I have my proper aiming functionality if I promise not to be a forum troll?

Edited by AscendantWyvern: 8/2/2014 12:10:01 PMIn fairness, diknak has a bit of a point. When you have the option to use or not use something that assists in combat, it's easy to create an excuse that your opponent, who just killed you, is using something you aren't. In this case, being aim assist. Though to be honest, that's just a matter of bitchy players bitching, rather than something that breaks the game.

So I shouldnt have the option to disable it because it would give me an excuse to have a bad k/d? And what about the Aim acceleration? Same thing? What If I just dont like to use these?
-
dude im just saying with out aim assist youd have a really -blam!-ing tough time. i think you and many others are really over thinking what that actually does. this isnt counter strike dude. you have a controller in ur hand, not a mouse and key board. I'd like to see an option as well i guess. maybe/potentially it may be better. who knows. Halo has it? calla duty, bf, um most games have some form of it with no form of turning it off. From what i read people in bf play with it.

Edited by David Dunn: 8/4/2014 3:38:53 PMIn BF you can disable it. Tons of people play with it off. And then theres Aim Acceleration, a whole different thing. A bunch of people prefer not to have that. Myself included.

it needs to be toned down. i think the best way to put it. even with it being "turned off" i think there'd still be an assist

nono, I was just playing devil's advocate, that elitist pricks will use any excuse to say that they are better than everyone else. To restrict an option because it will create elitist pricks is silly. I fully support all of the options of the OP.
