Do people even know what a "raid" is?

I keep seeing a consistent theme in the comments about how matchmaking is needed for the raids. The common complaint is I don't have any psn friends or I'm busy with work. I'm sorry but a raid is something that takes both time and friends. I raided in wow. Raiding takes time. There were calendar invites. 3 hour blocks of time set aside. Decisions on division of loot. If 1 of the 10 people made a simple mistake you started what you were doing all over. If you add matchmaking for the raid here is what you will get. 2 fresh level 20's that expect to be carried for gear. 1 person who is half playing while doing 6 other things. 1 person with their mic on but blasting annoying music. 2 people who are actually prepared to raid. So if you have limited time your actually wasting time with randoms. Either you spend 30 min to get 5 other people ready to raid and complete it in 2 hours. Or you que up with 5 randoms and then fail miserably for the next 3 hours. Everyone says all they have to do is put in mic chat. That also will be a mixed bag of 6 people not agreeing on how to do the raid. Or 2 people have a mic but don't care to work as a team. The only way match making will work is if you nerfed the crap out of the raid and rewarded lesser gear. Raids are meant to be a test of your individual skill, working with a team, a big time commitment and a little luck. If you somehow feel a group of 6 random people can on a consistent basis actually complete a raid....... I would like a sample of the Kool aid your drinking. Raids are a chance to get the most epic, coolest, bad ass loot. It's not epic, cool or bad ass if they give it to everyone. http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=123373556&postcount=1085

  • DC universe had matchmaking with raids and it worked out well (well for me at least) when i leveled up to max lvl and figured out i needed these marks to get these powerful gear which would lvl up ur character stats (kind of like these motes of light i keep hearing about in destiny). There were daily missions that gives u like 2 marks and jobs that give u 5 (10 if ur lucky) and raids gave like 10 or 20 plus really awesome gear. I didn't finish every raid i went in but if i made it half way i would still get awesome dropped by the NPC. Also since i was new to these raids and crap i didnt know ppl that would help me or anything. I meet these ppl that would help me with raids through random match making and would sometimes play with them in many raids. My point is yea your right raids would be crap with random ppl. But since this concept is new to some console players they should put in matchmaking or someway to get in touch with ppl that know how to do these raids so they can help these new players and these new fresh lvl 20s can teach the next batch and so no.( sorry for the lengthy comment) PS. raids on DC universe look like 3 hours to finish and i heard some raids in WoW is like 7 ppl shouldn't play them if they don't have time.
