PvE should be 80% of this game. PvP should fall in the remaining 20% I enjoy some PvP when I want to take a break from the field and battle it out some (for fun), not competition. Just being in the Beta I felt like PvP was a major part. Multiple PvP vendors, Iron Banner pops up, tons of PvP gear to earn. I honestly can't see myself Logging into Destiny to run PvP matches for hours on in. I can only hope and pray that PvE has tons to offer and holds my attention as new content is released but it PvP turns out to be the primary entertainment here, I will end up moving on to another game. Here's to hoping for a strong PvE Destiny.

  • another thing that is disappointing to me is that they are already selling expansions like what if they cut from what the base pve is suppose to have and put a bunch of shit in expansions to money whore the game that would be very sad

  • Some people (like myself) would argue for 80% PvP and 20% PvE. It's all about preference. Let's stop treating this like a zero sum game. BOTH modes can be amazing (and will be). So let's stop acting like Bungie is going to take away from one to add to the other. The problem is that a lot of PvE advocates are asking for more and more content. There's never "enough" to be completely satisfied. With PvP, gameplay mechanics are implemented, maps are created, weapons and gear are balanced, and then it's basically a finished product. As long as it's fun, an individual can get 1000s of hours of enjoyment out of it. Sure nobody's going to complain if Bungie throws in a new map or new weapons, but the introduction of new material isn't vital to the game. Good PvP breeds longevity; this is known. PvE requires continuous, creative material to keep it fresh. Essentially, PvE lacks that constantly changing human element, and therefore must be artificially created by means of new content. That ever changing human element is intrinsic in PvP, which is what keeps a game alive for years. This is why it is THE most important element of Destiny.

  • So I realize this is an Apples to Oranges comparison but bare with me. WoW was released as a PVE game. They tacked on PvP as an afterthought. The player base is still (and always has been) PvE players and PvP players are in the mass minority. I think this game will be similar in a sense because they are talking about releasing PvE content as "expansions". Idk I could be way off base on this one.

  • A game doesn't need PvP to have long life. PvP is fine , but Destiny was introduced as a long adventure that has this huge world to explore (in simple words). I was just saying that in the Beta I saw very heavy signs of PvP vs PvE. It's kind of like having PvP slapped into Dragon Age or something. Don't say "hey we have this huge space adventure" but yet I spend most of my time fighting other guardians when yet I am suppose to fighting to "push back the Darkness" Just Saying....
