Look at other FPS games, now look at Destiny, Look at other....
FPS games aaaaand now look back at destiny. if you honestly compare Destiny to other FPS games in reference to content. I think you'll find that you can stop complaining and start being excited.

115 RepliesScrew content, how about Bungie gets the basics right first? No ledge grab? Reload animation that cancels when you sprint and starts from the beginning every time? That turn speed? Invisible walls everywhere? Bungie needs to get with the program. It doesn't matter how much content you have if, at the base, your game is trash. Start by realizing that when you take a magazine out of a weapon, then do something else for a while, the magazine will not ever reappear back in the weapon. When I reload without emptying the weapon, a round stays in the chamber. Why am I manually cycling it? Does my space fighter not know how to use his own weapons? These are amateur mistakes that companies (except Bungie) stopped making years ago. I think that anyone paying the price tag on the game isn't feeling a false sense of entitlement. They are actually entitled.

5 RepliesI really enjoyed the beta, but I don't think this game is the best in it's class in any specific area. It's basically a jack of all trades, but a master of none. Having said that, I think I will still have lots of fun playing Destiny when it releases. When I look at other games that are coming out this year, this is the only game that changes things up enough for me to want to play on day one. I'm interested in Borderlands: The Pre Sequel and Far Cry 4, but I've already been there, done that with the previous games in each series, so I'll probably wait a year and pick them up for cheap during a Steam sale or something. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare could manage to be a major reboot for the series, so I'll be keeping an eye out on this game. Battlefield: Hardline didn't excite me whatsoever during the beta, so I'll probably skip that game and play Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 on PC if I get the urge for some Battlefield. The only other games that I can say that I am truly excited for other than Destiny are Mass Effect 4, Star Wars: Battlefront 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider and H-Hour: World's Elite. Even though Destiny doesn't completely reinvent the wheel and is missing some key features such as chat in the tower, I think it will still be one of the best games to have come out in the last couple of years.

10 RepliesIn terms of the PvE experience, it's not better than Borderlands. In terms of the PvP experience, it's not better than Battlefield. It's a good game but both experiences have superior offerings elsewhere. We've only seen a small portion of the game though so the final product may very well be better overall than most other shooters.

7 RepliesOk, so I read some of the comments and discovered that some of you say it will get boring and the lvl cap is 20 but you all don't understand that that can all change. In a dlc or extra content they can change the lvl cap to extend it and add more monsters for us to shoot we don't know what they have instore for us so lets just sit and wait and find out what they do have for us for now. The future will either hold the jewels or a -blam!-ing pebble get over it.

2 RepliesPeople are comparing it to FPS games when it isn't a true FPS. Definitely more RPG, akin to Fallout/Elder Scrolls/Borderlands, but with added PvP.

5 RepliesHalo 3/Reach/ODST I feel were more content filled. They are Bungie FPS. I'm not saying I don't have fun with Destiny. I just compare Destiny to other Bungie titles and frown.

I agree, so far it seems there is content to keep everyone happy. Tons of crucible maps, strikes with varying difficulty and a raid. It might not sound like a lot on paper but it really is. And that doesn't account for the quests and all the voiced scenes the game offers. I personally think it's incredible. All this coming from a good dev like bungie, yeah I'm excited. I can't wait to see what the future events will be like and to just be there for the beginning.

Thank you people are upset that theres not more. Thus beta had more than any other "next gen" game out right now especially fps wise i hope people realize that bungie has done a ton of stuff compared to other games after spending time with out destiny

I totally agree. Someone complained here the other day that the graphics on ps4 were just OK. I tried to find some "just OK" graphics next time I played Destiny. Nope. Didn't see anything but awesome.

as an MMO it's pretty good as an FPS not so much, but then it's bungie, good story great visuals meh game play

I played Halo before and Destiny is truly a masterpiece. From the rocks to the water as your character walks through it.The amazing sound as you stand still listening and then the god awful sound of the enemy that's communicating with their clans or groups and the machines in tow protecting the lowest form of the Fallen the Dreg with two arms. I just sat watching the hiearchy and the Dreg follow the Vandel and the little machines follow the Dreg. You can see some rythm to this order of the Fallen. I would just watch some where Guardian would be facing off with them and The Dreg looking at the Vandel trying to impress or impass some sort of I can do it brother or Captain. The Vandels engage in battle saying brother you lost your right I'll protect you if our order has abandon you. Then is the Captains of the Fallen with it's own Ghost they stolen from a dead guardian. The Ghost is something unique a A.I. left behind to find the Guardians that are suppose to protect the Last City on Earth under the Travelers Sphere. The Ghost is more than your campanion it's your friend and helps and guides you through the all the terriorties that belong to the creatures that came with the darkness.

1 ReplyI was worried Destiny might be a little bland and boring in the lead-up to the Alpha. Playing the Alpha changed my mind completely, and playing the Beta solidified my opinion that Destiny is going to rock. Being 100% honest here, I am not overly thrilled with the Crucible. Not because I was losing, I actually I did very well in it, crushingly so even in many matches. But even so it just didn't give me joy. I have more fun losing a match in Titanfall than I have winning a match in Destiny's Crucible. So that could still use some work, to me. With that being said... Story, Strike, and Exploration are the absolute most fun I've had since ever. It's like the lovechild of Halo: Reach Firefight and Fallout 3, and I FREAKING LOVE IT. The Beta got me so stoked that I e-mailed Amazon customer support to bump my Destiny PS4 order to the Limited Edition. I cannot wait!

Six strike missions that you play over and over and over and over, the same way each time, just bump up the level. Gameplay for the content is down right boring after played once. Boredom is nothing to get excited about. Gameplay for this game is the weakest I have ever is seen in an FPS. This game doesn't even come close to Halo for fun. Too bad the remaster version isn't coming to PS4. I'd buy that over this.

4 RepliesI sort of made a thread about how the level 20 cap is not the end of the world, more like the beginning, and one of the points I made was similar to this. I completely agree, but not just in terms of content. I think of all the games that people compare to Destiny, i.e. Halo, Borderlands, Mass Effect, Skyrim, I think that Destiny really has more to offer in terms of gaming than any of those. Truly is a unique Shared World Shooter.

I think destiny is a great FPS. I have more fun in the crucible than I do in COD or Battlefield.

Look at next gen fps games, now look at Destiny. Destiny is built to get better over time, (kind of like the PS4 IMO) the latest games and games coming soon are just average with a gimmick, we got to wait a few years for the other good shit.
