Actually... To note on the Hand Cannons... I outclass The other primaries in PvP with the Hand Cannon 9/10 times, BUT I had to fine an über epic HC AND have more skill than most players (not trying to brag). They are utter shit in PvE, though.
It depends on what gun one uses in the class. Some guns tear up in PvE, and are utter crap in PvP (and vice versa). For the most part, I use different guns for PvE and PvP. I switch around a lot, though. Variety is the spice of life.
All in all, good post. Thought some numbers were off, but I could be wrong. Will check after work tomorrow and get back to ya.

If you come at me like you did, am I not supposed to defend myself and submit to your assumptions? Does a 34 ACT score and 2200 SAT score grant me BAMF status? How about a 50k a year honors scholarship to a private college? Does winning a state-wide computer programming competition both years I was eligible count towards my status as a BAMF? I don't know... I have a Maverick MK. 32, and it's effect is that it reloads extremely fast (around 2 seconds) when its mag is empty, plus I have gauntlets that increase HC reload speed.

Agreed, I ONLY use a HC on my hunter (for PVP) and I wreck with it. It is certainly not the easiest primary to use, in fact it is probably the toughest, but I like challenging myself by using guns that most won't. I'm seeing a lot of comments saying that HC's don't have enough reserve ammo. If you're running out of ammo with the HC you probably aren't using it optimally. [u]Only take headshots[/u]. If you're just shooting as fast you can with it and getting body shots you're probably going to die. And that brings me to the comments about HC's recoil. While HC's do have a significant recoil animation after firing a shot I have found that as long as you wait a split-second before firing again the reticle will probably have returned to where it was before the recoil. So basically the way to counteract the HC's recoil and low reserve ammo is by simply taking a split second to aim your shots for the head. Because I assure you the damage a headshot from a HC can inflict is significant. But with that being said there are certainly legitimate drawbacks to using a HC, as evidenced by the fact that practically nobody uses it. They do have a very small mag, I'm assuming most/all HC's will have around 6 rounds but I'm not certain. Although, if you use those rounds optimally (shot at your enemies face) then those 6 bullets are enough to get at least 2 kills, maybe three, which if you think about it is about the same results that you would get with a clip from any other primary weapon, 2-3 kills before needing to reload. However, with all that praise and defense of the HC I do have one grievance with the HC that I hope Bungie will look into. The blamming sights on the things are terrible (at least the two options that I have on the one I use are). It is so small, and located a centimeter above the barrel that half the time you have to use intuition to guess that the shot you are about to take is a headshot. It is fine for PVE free-roam when the enemies are more predictable, and less mobile, but in PVP it is an unnecessary drawback. Just give the HC's some big sights like the scout rifles have and we'll be good to go. But to each their own, and if sounds like I'm being elitist I do apologize, tone is so hard to convey in a forum post. And once again I do agree that the other primaries are easier to use, and on my Warrior and Warlock I never dreamed of using a HC, but the Hunter has so much gear with bonuses for HC's like increased ammo / reload time that I figured I would give it a go and I never turned back. :) One Love

Hand cannons are superb in PvE. I have walked the length of Old Russia, with just a hand cannon for self-defence. The only issues I have are the low ammo, long reload times, and damage dealt at distance, but I can usually circumvent some or all of them faults, with creative gameplay.

Agreed, they are sufficient for free-roam, but if you are in a strike with teammates counting on you a HC just doesn't hold up against a scout rifle.

I find that using hand cannons increases my efficiency and precision with scout rifles. It is uncanny, I can snap shoot with about 80% precision accuracy using hand cannons, when I swap to a scout rifle I am snap shooting at almost 100%!

That would be awesome. I wasn't sure about some of the headshot multipliers. Also, are you sure about hand cannons being good in PvP? I get they do the highest damage, but at that close of range I would rather get closer and use a shotgun. Hand cannons are pretty reliant on headshots to begin with and crucible shields are 67% of your health

They do well if you use the right ones. I use a Seacher Mk. 37 in Crucible and beat out others in fights a lot. The recoil is ridiculous to look at, but if you keep pulling the trigger, the bullet goes pretty much exactly where you were aiming before the kick. I was getting 3 shot headshot kills earlier, and 4 shot mixed (body and headshots) earlier. You can hit them three times in the body, and then once in the head and get and easy kill. They are a little difficult to get used to, but they can be very useful in PvP in the right hands. Steep learning curve. Remember that different gun classes require different tactics. The Hand Cannons have good range, so you can out duel the kids using Auto Rifles all day if you're farther away. Be more reserved in your play when using the Hand Cannons. Also, Fusion Rifle makes an amazing combo with the Hand Cannon. If we had more time, I'd say to find some different Hand Cannons and test them out. The different scopes and passive upgrades make a huge difference in all guns, but especially so on the Hand Cannons.

You make a good point. I was kind of suggesting they were bad. I know the Searcher is the highest damaging uncommon hand cannon. It's rare equivalent is the Regulator and the Legendary on is probably the one from iron banner, not 100% sure on that though.
