The one thing that would make me want to keep playing destiny would be strikes/raiding as long as they keep coming up with new stuff regularly like MMOs but I think it will be too slow to keep me interested. The problem with destiny right now is that pvp feels... subpar compared to halo, the gameplay is good but everything else feels like shit, the netcode needs serious work, the maps are unbalanced, no automatic voice-chat makes it feel very disorganized and it's hard to build a community with such limited means of communication. Honestly social interaction is huge to make a game long-lasting.
