The Tower needs a Shooting Range to test new weapons and loadouts. Any thoughts? Agree or disagree?

Amazing idea :D

That would be awesome. Good idea. Or maybe like a VR thing with active enemies. Or both
-
Good idea I like
-
I have to agree, looking at stats is one thing but trying it is something you really want to do before you head back to orbit.
-
This idea definitely makes sense. It would be a fairly simple addition with a lot of functionality.
-
Ya im onboard with a shooting range
-
Lol even MYTH had a practice area!
-
Reminds me of the shooting range in Mass Effect 3, in the Citadel. Yes, a shooting range wouldn't be a bad idea.
-
I swear I was thinking the same thing
-
Yeesss but it would be even better if you could test a weapon before buying it!!
-
Yea, agree. But didn't a one of the designers say something about maybe having one in the full game I've heard something about a shooting range before
-
Agreed

agreed
-
I agree. I actually already made another post on this myself. :-)
-
Agreed would be cool just to shoot random weapons and that
-
Yes... yes it does need one
-
We should be able to compete with each other for accuracy like in a normal range. (maybe have it be like the range in men in black :p )
-
Agreed. Someplace with (temporary of course) infinite ammo, and replenishing targets. You can sort of go testing just by murdering the sh!t out of the predictable spawns (another problem) in the exploration mode, but the loading takes longer than desired, and there's the pesky problem of ammunition... So yes. Seconded. A firing range would be much-appreciated.

Edited by Flint3125: 7/25/2014 1:23:30 PMI totally dig this idea. I have built shooting ranges in each Halo since Halo 3 using Forge IOT mess around with each weapon. I would love to see this in three forms. 1) The first form is a simple range - enter and stand at a static location and fire weapons at targets. They can at first be static, then pop up, then moving. It shouldn't require AI as they won't fire back, but it's just a range. Competitive fun? Have leaderboards (with different weapon types) for friends and/or global with hits/headshots/accuracy/speed. 2) The second is an obstacle course - enter into an area to try out different abilities. You can have a suggested path to have you run through. You can test out your movement skills over jumps and things like that. Different levels could be designed for Titans, Hunters and Warlocks or just one uniform one. Again, competitive fun could incorporate leaderboards (with different weapon types) for friends and/or global with speed or other things (probably just speed). Could you imagine floating through rings or something as a Warlock? 3) The third is the shoot house. This would be the ultimate fun house with a maze which includes pop up targets. Jumps, slides, sprints - all included throughout the house. Once again, tons of fun with leaderboards. Heck, incorporate bounties/quests just to get the word out. It's not necessarily just for inexperienced players but with the vast array of weapons and options, this would be a welcome addition to the Tower. Great post SolidCM! Thoughts? JTS

I have no idea why more games don't have equipment testing areas and shooting ranges. It's such a great opportunity to explore the game fiction, provide a social atmosphere, and flex some design muscles.
-
I agree, I even made a thread about the same thing a day ago.
-
The entire game needs a lot of everything it's bare and I'm not impressed with what they spent 500million dollars on
-
Along with the bar and the duels and more people
-
It should have some sort of bar similar to the Mass Effect Citadel.
-
That's a great idea.
