  • I own both as well, full hd, same hdmi cable, 42 inch tv distance between 3 and 5m (depending couch or tv-chair), no difference at all with 100% vision.. e.g. space ships land in tower, u see at both consoles "flickering" at the black lines (shitty AA?) don't look at any blown up "so called real comparison" vids.. since i prefer xbox one controller over ps4 one, I go always for xbox at multiplattform titles, especially for ego shooters nevertheless it is embarrassing that bungie developed the game for old generation too, to slaughter the game for more money, instead of adding some more graphical and physical features (e.g. destruction) so or so there are way to few games for xbox one and ps4 out there even taken together and I fear after 20h of destiny, I will get bored since PvP will be the only thing u can do in the end after 15h campaign, which is as challenging as every Halo/CoD 0815 shooter..

  • The beta looks better. Full version is 1080p on both consoles. Bungie has already confirmed this and released 1080p footage on the Xbox One. So there is 0 differences in the full versions on either console... just sayin.

  • They've said that the "Exclusive" DLC for the PS4 is a timed exclusive. They said that everything that they put out on one platform will make it to all platforms at some point. So yea, 0 difference.

Not talking about content, PS4 can (and should) outperform xbone games at all times. The only reason for complete parity between both version would be if devs either deliberately gimp or neglect the PS4 version. The gap is just a fact. Just saying though, and in the end I don't really care, as I will probably never see any Xbone game irl.

  • Basically even though the games are both gonna be 1080p, the PS4 version will look better if they put in any effort in, which they will. The X1 is barely running it 30fps 1080p even with the 10% boost, whereas the PS4 can do it with ease. If they put in any amount of effort which they will, the PS4 will look better I already know the shadows look better on PS4 among other things, just sayin. . .

  • You have sat down and played the XB1 full version? You know that it's struggling to put out 1080p somehow? Are you a developer? Or just a fanboy? I'm guessing it's probably the latter rather than the former. I'm just trying to say that it's going to look good no matter which console you play it on, you guys are going all fanboy on me for some reason. And I doubt your assessment is correct about the X1's power, as it doesn't seem to be struggling at all in the footage Bungie and IGN put together.

It can barely reach the level of running Destiny at 1080p 30fps how do I know this? I know the specs for each console and I know that Destiny would be lesser graphically speaking if it didn`t have the additional 10% power. This leads me to believe that it is barely reaching that point graphically. You are taking the word "struggling" too literally it`s not like on PC where you could see a PC is struggling, it`s just the console is weak and it is barely reaching that level, it`s probably closest to the most they can do with the console. IG played the X1 version for an hour, I have played the PS4 version for several hours. I am not a PS4 Fanboy nor am I a developer I just understand how hardware functions and judging by the X1`s stats it barely reaches the level necessary to run Destiny. Whereas the PS4 is capped for laziness or parity, your choice.

  • You do not even have to get into these specifics. The hardware answers all! And of course whether or not the developer(s) take advantage of this hardware. The ps4 has so so so so many more "shaders" than the xone that's it! That is ALL you need to know! Before you ask YES I am employed in this type of technological field.

  • That's not the point. The point is that if they make a game with both consoles in mind there will be absolutely no difference. As they've done with Destiny. They went for parity, that's on them and it's something that is going to be prevalent in this generation because Microsoft has more money to shell out than Sony... period.

  • The game Destiny was designed and quite possibly (if money wasn't an issue) for the playstation 4 only. The ONLY reason it's on all platforms at all is because like you and others and all in all the obvious answer is business. If they could make the same money and keep it on the best (graphically speaking) and only console, they would. You wouldn't buy a next gen console and then purchase a brand new 720p tv to play it on would you? Just like me being a washed up semi pro Halo 2 player you bet your buttocks I'm buying Destiny for its respective console being my PlayStation4. I like to get my money's worth when I invest and Destiny on Xbox one just wouldn't cut it to my standards.

  • I have both as well and can see NO difference. Both running to an LG 1080p HDTV. Graphics are identical. Load times the same. No observable difference. I prefer the Xbox controllers over PS's big time, so the Xbox is where I'm spending most of my time with Destiny.

  • The beta only runs in 1080P on Ps4, NOT on X1 (This is FACT). I own both I am also a 25 year old with 20/20 vision and yes you can tell the difference. You should be able to seeing how you're comparing 1080(ps4) to 720(xone) I am no fan boy of either but I'm also not blind. To answer the question about shading whether the game no matter what game it is the Ps4 has almost double the shaders (or more) as opposed to the xbox one therefore games that are massively "shaded" if you will: Will ALWAYS look better on ps4. I've owned all these consoles since each day they have came out therefore negating "fanboisms" I speak nothing but truth and base none of my opinions and knowledge on nothing but FACTS.

  • Regardless of 'facts', I see no discernible difference between my PS4 and Xbox One. None. Zero. Whether it be movies, games etc. So Sony can say the PS4 is 4K, 3D, makes coffee, bacon sandwiches and will massage my feet. That won't make it look any better than what I'm seeing on my Xbox One. Oh, and I'm not blind. I have 20/20 vision and have worked in electrical engineering for over 20 years. So I do know a bit about how this stuff works and what the human eye is capable of seeing and not seeing. Cheers!

  • You're a little late to the party. We were talking about the beta which there was indeed a huge visual difference between the 2 consoles. The full game I agree with you. But the fact of the matter is Bungie could've easily made the ps4 version look better if they WANTED to. Seems like they were just being lazy and decided to code the xone and ps4 games the same which is kind of bullshit if you ask me. Greed is greed in the end I guess.

  • Wrong, you must have interpreted me incoorectly. Basically a good example would be for me to say; "I like how Destiny (The Beta) looks on ps4"-(opinon). The reason being is because it indeed does look better on ps4 BECAUSE first of all it is FACT as everyone has stated (Gamers, companies, Bungie etc.) What I was TRYING to imply is that I base my general opinons on known facts. I want to play Destiny on ps4 because it just plain looks better. Someone on this thread had also stated he doesn't notice much of a visual difference between the 2 but he PREFERS the xbox1 controller. For anyone to say that these betas look identical you should go get your vision checked.. NO OFFENSE. Also yes everyone who says both full games will come out in 1080P is correct (From what we've been told anyway) But at the end of the day the ps4 has so many more shaders than that of the Xbox one so of course a game like Destiny is going to look better on ps4 IFF the developer(s) choose to make it look better they have the power with ps4 NOT xbox one. I work in this technological "Field" I can assure you I am no idiot when it comes to things such as these.

  • ^tru7h. I deleted the beta off my x1 last night. Wasn't worth it. The PS4 is better experience despite coming from Xlive for over 10 years... it just is what it is. Bungie designed this game to run on the PS4, and it shows. <shrug> Business decisions are what they are. I don't penalize anyone. However, I don't 'blame' activision or anyone else... Bungie went where the money was to make a game. Sony and activision stepped up, MS did not. Contracts were signed, done. If you want to blame someone... blame Bungie for asking for a number and blame MS for not agreeing. I definitely do not blame Activision and Sony for being the ones to agree... LOL.. they are the reasons I get to play Destiny in Sept.

  • Oh you are talking about the timed exclusives on PS that will also be released on Xbox later on? also there is an interview with a Bungie graphics engineer and it is stated that the game is going to be the same in BOTH consoles. The thing is on Xbox the beta runs at 900 but the final release of the game will run at 1080 and will be EXACTLY THE SAME GAME as on PS

  • No, I'm not talking about PS Exclusives brother. Osborne said before Destiny was a thing, they went out to talk to the console manufactures (presumably to see who was going to be their flagship platform) and the PS4 and X1 were both being designed. Sony had "Pillars" of design that aligned well with the Pillars of design in destiny. They both moved forward together in development. Bungie influenced Sony's design decisions for PS4 and the overhaul of the PSN as well as the Dualshocks used in PS4. Obviously all after they ink'd a deal to work together. They also coded Destiny from ground up to run / work / function on the PSN and on the PS4 as a result. This was their flagship product and the PS4 was their flagship platform. They seen synergy. You can listen to the Osborne interview and come to your own realizations, but when a company says look, before our game, their new network, controller or present gen system was developed, we all got together and realized we had synergy and thus - we influenced each other... and we even made sure we had product alignment and development inputs... pshaw... MS completely missed the boat. Now we also see X1 last year making announcements about how they were going to be the center of your living room, working with TV, sports this, TV that and Kinect everythign - whoohoo... nobody cared... they changed the dashboard to something foreign and forgot about what made the 360 awsome, the games - they were boo'ed off stage at E3 2013... take a look at the PS vs. MS video of 2013... it's laughable... In the meantime, Sony learned from the success fo the X360 and Xbox Live that made the Xbox 360 so strong. The present PSN and the present PS4 dashboard rock. It's stronger by comparison. It's increadibly intuitive. You can do all the functions you could do on the X360 on PSN and then some... I can even adjust my Mic level and input device controls and they even have a share button on the controller to allow me to take video or quick snapshots and share with a double tap or quick press of the share button, and I can program it. Frankly, they surpassed the ease of use of the dashboard of the X360. MS fell on their face with the Windows 8 panels in the X1 and now they are rapidly trying to fix that train wreck. We are seeing monthly patches now, Major Nelson is working overtime telling us what's new and what's coming on Xlive, they are looking for feedback and trying to impliment change so quick its mindblowing. We are not in the summer / spring updates from X360 days... we are in the ERRMAGERDFIXIT days of X1 put out monthly patches of X1 in MS land right now... heck, they are even suggesting unplugging the sacred Kinect from the X1 and for the first time offering systems without the X1... unheard of heresey to even think of a year ago. In 2014, MS retools the staff from top down over X1... they put a new guy in charge, and you don't hear crap about being the center of the living room experience. They are in severe damage control mode. They had to put out an SDK kit in June... at E3 2014 when Sony is saying LOOK Destiny OMG its amazing... MS is saying... look, Halo... again heh.. :/ and through a tweet, they said they are putting out an SDK kit so Destiny should run at 1080p by the time Destiny launches in Sept... there was NOTHING on destiny for MS at E3... WTH... it's the biggest game, and you say nothing. Alpha - only on PS4, runs at 1080p/30fps Beta - Longer experience on PS4, more to do on Sony, runs at 1080p/30fps Beta - shorter on X1, runs at 900p/30fps, choppy, laggy, network problems, and did not look near as good, download process was schetchy launch - PS4 gets long term exclusives, X1 gets red-headed step child treatment... and a promise to make it run well + + + No, I'm not talking about PS exclusives brother, this is MUCH larger and greater conversation than exclusivity... we are talking business and development. I'm not putting my next 10 years of gaming experience on what is essentially a port to X1 to make it work. I'm convinced that the game, by Bungie's own admission, was meant to run on the PS4.... take a look at few articles on the web for which system you going to run Destiny on... you'll find a few tech articles on it where there's some deep dives, they all come to the same conclusion. Cheers,
