Ghost Gun needs to get Stealthy, Quick, and Precise
The Hunter class superweapon ability apparently was called "Golden Gun" in past, now called "Ghost Gun". It has a spiffy animation where the Hunter thrusts his hand in the air with a golden hand cannon erupting in sunlit flames. Cool huh? Uhm-yeah-no.
Hunters are supposed to be stealthy. A "Ghost Gun" that makes your Hunter erupt in sun flames is not stealthy. Hunters are supposed to kill you without you even knowing they were there. Their special weapon is a sniper rifle. Walking up close and blasting away with a hand cannon like a mafioso is no way to kill on the sly.
The Ghost Gun works okay until you try it in Crucible. Then it gets you dead real quick, like this: You sprint around the edge of the battle, see a target popping rounds at your team as they try to hold a control point. "Your ass is mine," you think with glee! You pull R1L1, and your hand shoots up in the air; solar plasma arcs around you; you look like HeMan by the power of Greyskull! Meanwhile your target has taken down two of your teammates and repositioned. Golde- er Ghost gun only lasts a short duration, so you sprint after your target. You catch him just as he is turning and fire one into his center of mass. He's a Titan, so instead of dying like decent prey, he unloads his machine gun into your lightly armored Hunter. You hit him again, and as you die in a hail of bullets, he takes your second shot to the head, and you're both sent to respawn.
Shit.
This time you try a new tactic: sprint for control point A. Hit L1D1 just as you come up on it--Gzzzzzzggzztt bee in a bug zapper and you're ready to sun cannon some meat. Coming around the corner, you see the prey running to control point B. You fire off a couple shots, but decide to sit on A and take it. As you hear "B is neutralized" your sun gun goes limp. Before you can finish taking the control point, a Warlock appears. You start blasting with your scout rifle, but it's no match for the shotgun at close quarters, and you get sent to spawn-land.
If I'm gonna play a class that has little armor and recovers slow, I want my special weapon to be precise, long range, and available at a snap. I don't want to throw my hands up in the air and wave em like I just don't care. I'm a predator. I don't do this for glory. I do it because I need to feed.
