Please make third person mode an option in combat!
okay, so, The trailer was the reason i preordered this game in the first place, seeing how most of it was shown in a third person perspective. i then learned that this was going to originally be in third person, but when i finally had access to the beta, i was dissapointed seeing only the boring ol first person mode which made it seem like another generic first person shooter; a Call of Duty reskin if you will... i'm not the only person on the net that wants to have third person mode as an option, (being able to toggle between first person and third person with a button is most preferred) there are many people on some of these youtube videos about Destiny that say they won't buy the game unless they can have third person mode! we don't mind if Destiny has to be delayed a bit just to add that feature; or maybe a post release patch could be possible? anyways, yeah... you already got my money, so you might as well consider my (and many others) request and add this nice feature... i would truly appreciate it, and so would many others! Thanks in advance! :)

Yes, that would be so cool. I would love to have the option to play in third-person in combat too. I love the Charakterdesign. And the style of the equipment in the game. But i can't see my charakter in action. :-( I would be so happy if there would be the option to play the game in third-person on every planet. PLEASE BUNGIE!

I like it the way it is I like to shoot I first person and see my guy in laid back places its a nice balance and a new system I believe 3rd person fighting would b bad in this game and would make ppl like it less

1 ReplyThere were a lot of requests for 3rd person from the Alpha, but i dont recall ever seeing an official response(?). The main criticism was on the PvP side, due to the pro/cons of awareness. Personally i think it would be nice as an option for PvE, and given the code is already mostly there (tower, and emotes in-game), hopefully not hard to implement. I would mostly like 3rd person as i find the Field of View very tight in FPS-mode, so if Bungie don't wish to widen the FoV or provide a slider to user-adjust, 3rd person is the next best way to get a wider FoV.

I dislike 3rd person. But I understand the reason being. So you can see more in your area. That could be unfair in PvP matches where someone can peak out from corners. So no I don't think they should implement this. However, I would like if I can change my FoV to 100. FoV 65% right now in game really sucks.

1 ReplyYes....... More options the better. I'd love for this to be an option for us to switch to 3rd person view throughout the whole game. I never understood why so much customization when you can't see your character. I wish more people would flood the forums with the 3rd person view as an optional way to experience the game.

IF we have this option, there should be option of toggling helmet on not hostile enviorment.
