Edited by OldboyVicious: 7/17/2014 11:02:48 AMFor a first bike, I would really recommend an old beater that you can drop and not worry about, something that barely runs that you can work on and learn from. After that, or if you want to skip that step, a Suzuki SV-650 is a great first bike that will carry you through to intermediate skill as well. The pic was mine (after some customization). They can be really nice bikes.

I started on a 600, not recommended by most. My opinion, if you are a smart rider, have self control, etc, then you can possibly start on a super bike. You gotta respect the bike, don't be a show off and gear up.

My first bike was/is a Street Triple 675, perfect bike for a new rider and also plenty of fun once more experienced.
