Yeah, but if you're sniping right [being a Hunter] you're always cloaked.
Either way, I think this is a bad idea. You should be paying attention, rather than having the game tell you everything.

When the match begins, everything's the same as we saw in the alpha. The actual game is totally up to you and your team's skills, strategy, and ability to communicate just like we've been playing in Halo games for the past decade or longer. There is no hand-holding going on, only a brief window of basic information before the match begins. Just because you know what your enemy is capable of doesn't mean you can actually stop them.

You can already go to the lobby menu and inspect other players' inventory through that. I'm pretty sure that works while the game is loading/ships are flying around in the background.

You have no idea who you're up against in matchmaking though.

Yeah but you can check the same lobby menu to inspect peoples gear whenever you're in the same server.
