  • Yes, the power supply is just fine, but it's utter overkill. If you want to save a few bucks, get a lower wattage power supply.

  • i can't find the continious wattage need for the system. part picker says 427W, right? my GC alone requires 600W in the specs so that's wrong. one last gen calc said 850. and most calculators don't take the fact that devils canyon K series/Z97 released into account yet. i really wanted platinum and Continous Wattage(not peak wattage) rated for max reliability so if there is a smaller one that fits, please show me.

  • Well, first off, PCPartPicker says that the build requires ~491 watts, not ~427 watts. Keep in mind that the prototype Steam Machines ALL shipped with 450 watt power supplies, and some of them even came with Titans. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/10/04/valve-steam-machine-prototypes-coming-with-nvidia-titans.aspx I'm not saying to get a 450 watt power supply, even though it should work just fine. Since you'll be doing overclocking, a 650 watt or 750 watt or so power supply should be just fine. For example, I own this SeaSonic power supply. It's 750 watts and 80+ gold certified. It's more than enough for me - it's even very overkill for my PC - but I do plan on adding a 2nd 7950 sooner or later. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ss750km
