Since there is no naming, but rather your username here is used, no reservation is needed, as for beta, no official word, but assumption is no, to retain a fair base at launch.

Cheers for the reply! I was hoping that the Gamertag use was for the Alpha only as a placeholder... I wonder how long they will keep us in the dark for :(

Bungie day might give us a clue, tho again assumption is no on beta transfer, beta is for gameplay testing and feedback, not to give you a free head start.
