Mine is set in a post-global catastrophe semi-utopian society on earth. Then the next book will go back to the 21st century briefly before moving into a sorta psychedelic trip in space. The third and fourth books return to the future, mostly in space and other worlds. I like a big, interconnected world where the characters mostly drive the overarching plot, such as it is.
