I just watched the first six episodes actually. This was my first anime and I heard it was really good but I don't think I like it. All the dialogue is self pity, whining, motivational speeches. A huge amount of it is said in yelling/screaming voices, or real quiet whispers.
The scenes change to something completely unrelated during something important. Like a flashback for the rest of the episode as they were supposed to be killing titans.
Overall I like the concept but it feels like it was written by someone with ADD.
Ill maybe try getting into it tomorrow but it's going to take some adjusting.
So what do you guys think of Attack on Titan? Is it worth continuing?

The anime is annoying like that. I prefer the manga.
-
Its intense and makes me cringe at times
-
What a shitty anime.

Edited by White Tyga 2: 7/3/2014 3:27:33 AMI just watched Attack on Titan
-
Watch Blast of Tempest. It doesn't get much recognition, yet I've seen a lot of anime these past few months and it's my favorite.
-
Jesus Christ OP, that's a horrible choice for a first anime. Drop that garbage ASAP and start watching either Darker Than Black or Spice & Wolf.
-
I hate the way the characters are drawn, from the episodes i've seen they have a really thick, bold outline around them that makes them look out of place. Everything else looked great, but that one detail is just very bothersome.
-
It's kind of a shit anime IMO. There are far better ones out there. I prefer manga as it is almost always better. Watch Mirai Nikki, shit gets real.

Edited by Yuu: 7/3/2014 12:28:05 AMIt's just eye candy like Transformers. Gets more good towards the end and whatnot. Watch Kill la Kill, has a female protagonist and gets crazy with story shit. Funny, too. -blam!- you Ossku

Gurren Lagann and Sword Art Online are my favorites, try one of those next. I know there's tons of hate on SAO but people find pleasure in insulting popular/good things.
-
I liked it, there were things I didn't like but overall I thought it was decent.
-
Oh My God. If I hear one more person talk about Attack on Titan, I'm going to smash something.

Edited by MANGO: 7/3/2014 12:48:35 AMKeep watching, I'm on episode 24 and it's pretty great, give it time c;

I feel the same way and I only watched the first episode Death note is way better, watch that, top down one of the best anime's I've seen.

I agree.

Avatar: Legend of Korra Book 3 is where it's at.

I'm not too into anime myself but have watched just a few shows, AOT being one of them. You'll find a lot more veteran guys on here, but my two cents: continue! The series took just a bit to hook me as well... it really picks up in the middle episodes, lots of action and interesting stuff happening. And the ending bits are fantastic. If I may make three more anime recommendations: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It has some of the traditional flaws of anime like moving too slowly and meandering but has a killer fundamental story and is a lot less relentlessly dire then AOT. Fate/Zero. Honestly this might be the anime I'd recommend most to someone who hasn't seen anime just because it's sharp, intense, intriguing, and doesn't mess around. Death Note. I'm only a bit over halfway through the show but if you like some really meticulous, relentless and creative cat-and-mouse... it's tight.
