EDIT AUGUST 1, 2014: This thread and this video were originally made during the Destiny First Look Alpha on PlayStation 4, and this is a feature that appeared in the Alpha. This feature was apparently removed for the Beta, as nobody (including me) reported receiving "loot mail" in the Beta. The original post from June 20, 2014 is below:
Here's a nifty feature you might have missed even if you played the Alpha. If you miss loot while you're out on a mission (maybe it rolled off a cliff where you couldn't reach it, or maybe you just never saw it), it gets mailed back to the Postmaster, and it's waiting for you the next time you visit the Tower!
Pretty cool, eh?
Necro

I never found any loot in there, but I'm usually a good scavenger of my recently slain foe's corpses.
-
Pretty sure it's not all loot. Probably restricted to high end ones like boss ones and such,, just in case you missed that exotic boss drop or the dreaded mission end timer ninja-ed you and you didnt look carefully.
-
Either that robot was stealing my mail when I was away or it was off/glitchy for the Xbox One beta....
-
Worked in the alpha but not in the beta for me
-
Doesn't loot come from head shots? It seemed the more head shots I got the more loot I got. 'Cause I always saw the loot shoot up into the air after head shots. Correct me if I wrong.
-
I heard this only works for boss loot that you accidentally didn't pick up, and i did confirm it works for that. But as far as engrams and such? That isn't sent to your mail.
-
Hopefully this works in the full game. That never once happened to me.
-
Keep it out of the game and make it more interesting. People won't even bother looking if it gets picked up for them. Or limit postmasters inventory to like 5 or 8. Then people will think twice about double checking the area for missed loot
-
This didn't work for me in the beta though.
-
i hope they implement this in the final game, because this was only available on the alpha not in the beta.
-
I don't think this works as well as they want it to. I purposely left a few green engrams laying around after I finished up The Last Array and nothing was waiting for me when I returned to the tower. The only thing I ever got from the Postmaster was vanguard marks for getting a gold tier completion on a random event
-
I heard this was true . . . it didn't stop me running through enemies like a moron to get an engram. Old habits I guess.
-
i killed a level "??" Halliwed Knight with a sword. He dropped a blue engram or loot. it never got sent to the post master
-
Dat PS4 loading time tho... so much faster than my 5 minute wait on 360 :/
-
For REALZYS????? I wondered what happened if I couldn't find loot after the Devil's Lair boss battle.
-
The postmaster didn't work at all for my mate. He didn't even get his daily gold event reward when I did and we did them all together. But that's beta for ya
-
i really, REALLY, like this feature, though i never got anything from the postmaster, maybe i was just really efficient at keeping track of my loot.
-
I tried this and lost a couple engrams cause of it. Wasn't to bothered just confused why it worked in the alpha and not the beta lol
-
I left few drops to test it. Did get couple engrams but no weapons. Think heard at one point it will collect to better drops for you but not 100% on that
-
I knew this already
-
Edited by Desticle: 7/31/2014 12:03:55 AMI will still fight through a horde of enemies to pick up that green orb. I won't wait for it to be clear. I go for it right when I see it drop.
-
It worked for me although I read somewhere that it has to be uncommon loot or better, could be wrong though.
-
This definitely didnt work properly in the Beta. Ive had items I left that never showed up.
-
I tested this in beta. Dropped green loot was left on purpose and never seen at the postmaster. I hope this works in the full release.
-
To be clear, this did not function in the beta. I tested it on multiple occasions, leaving green loot drops in both explore and strikes. None were returned to me in any way.
