I want everybody to play Destiny, I really do. But it is a fact that children are immature and because of this, they often ruin the game for other players. It's not because they are bad people, I'm not saying that. It's because they are emotional, hot-headed, they think they know more than they do. This often causes a lot of conflict with other players who just want to have fun. The irrationality and immaturity of the children will clash with the seasoned gaming veteran.
Now, I'm not saying kids should be banned from Destiny, I want them to enjoy it to. What I'm saying is that bungie takes measures to encourage the parents of children to supervise them and to teach them proper manners in online gaming. How does bungie do this you may ask? The kinect and playstation 4 camera are more than capable of reading faces and matching them up with public databases if the proper software is written for both of them. The cameras scan the children and match them up with a public record. If the child is found to be under the age of 17, an additional monthly fee of $10 will be required to allow them to play. If the fee is not paid, then they cannot play. This requires that the parents invest in the child, so the parents will not want their kids to screw it up, or else they risk being banned. Which would be a waste of money.
Now why 17 you may ask? Well, 17 is the biological age of maturity. It is at this time that the process of puberty begins to end. Hormones are released into your body that allow for more rational thinking. Before this happens, it is literally impossible to be mature. Sure, some kids may act mature, but that's because they've been supervised by their parents. Some may even believe that they are mature, even going so far as to say
I'm 13/14/etc and I don't swear or do any of those things.
but that's because the way they view reality is skewed.
Sure, some adults may act immature, but this is because they have to deal with immature kids. Science has shown that high pitched noises activate certain instincts in adults. It has to do with protecting the young. When babies cry, adults automatically want to do something to get the baby to stop crying. This is the instinct high pitched noises appeal to. It makes adults irrational and emotional. This is not something that contributes to a friendly gaming environment. So if you encounter a grown person who appears to be acting immature, it's probably because they just encountered a kid.

I'm sry butt a quarter of the gaming market is kids so and I'm one and then they are not going to do anything about it
-
Most of the kids that scream and rage etc are 9, 10, 11 year olds. I'm 13 and I play with people other 16 and they like the fact there not the only Virgin in the game.

Edited by X1014: 9/12/2014 2:50:16 AMTwo things: 1: I paid $100 for this game 2: There's no game chat 3: If anything, the fee should be if you're under 13 4: I don't have a fourth reason since I was supposed to have two
-
Dude, in all respect, that is a horrible idea for 2 reasons 1. It alienates kids, who are a big part of the demographic 2. The game is rated T for TEEN (caps meant to represent italics btw) so it clearly was made to be a game for young adults and casual gamers
-
rated T... failed troll...
-
I agree 110%. Kids under 17 need to get the -blam!- away. I'm seriously sick of children.
-
Couldn't you just sit an older person down in front of the camera when it scans? That's what I would do, seeing as how I'm not over 17 and don't use a mic anyway
-
I read the title and automatically started guessing how many times you've been dropped as a child.
-
I'm -4 and I bet that I'm more mature than half of you
-
At least they can't scream at you because of proximity chat
-
What? Longface without another troll post? *slow clap* I also agree with you partly. Thinking 14 is probably where you set the minimum age
-
You wrong. Im 14 therefore I am right...
irony
-
LOOOL ino😂😂😂
-
You say 17 because you are 17. If u were like 16 for example then that would be the age you suggest. And an extra $10 is stupid because people can barely afford to buy live as it is if they have an xbox
-
What you SHOULD have is a maturity test before you play. If your immature you don't get to use a mic.
-
You want me to allow a company to scan my face and run me through a database to see my age for 10 fricken bones? Short answer is no.
-
Good old long face #satire keep up the good work
-
My 16 and 17 year old friends aren't even close to being ripe on the tree of maturity. It all depends on how you were raised..
-
Yep, you're muted
-
Why not just make it simple, people under a certain age a different server then us older folks
-
So you are saying if I play this game for a year I would have to pay 120$ out of my pocket along with the fee for memberships, dlc and such. I'm only 16 and that's a bit harsh towards most people. And most parents probably wouldn't pay the fee just to play a video game. I am pretty mature but really. We can all me immature at times, really. We aren't going to have to deal with babies crying while playing the game (unless you have a kid or are baby sitting or whatever) and honestly. It's your choice to talk with a kid or not. You can mute their mic., leave a party, etc. If there was that kind of system I probably wouldn't get the game along with a lot of the community since its unfair to most of us. Also the game is rated T for teen and not M for mature. That basically says if you are 13+ and get the game you should be able to play for free and only have to pay for dlc. Also by saying this you are kind of saying that even the more mature people (around 14-16) in this group and many others have to be punished just because there are the young annoying immature kids out there that no one likes. Like I've said, i'm only 16 and i'm pretty mature myself and really, don;t hate on the community even if they are just younger or more immature. You're pushing some of this crap onto those it doesn't even apply to.

Children are hostile little potty mouths! " u mad bro?" I've never been called the F word for gay (fa**ot) so much in my life as I do while I play COD. I am a white guy who continuously gets racist slurs yelled at me because I got a deep voice wih a little soul in it. With that being said, children are the future. Hopefully they will stay playing COD. Im tired of hearing "You fu**ing fa**ot douche bag ni**er bitch! I fu**ed your fat ugly ni**er mom!"
-
Or when you start the game you have to put in D/O/B and some sort of identification so it check and make sure said person isn't lying, that way people could be grouped according to age. I think you have some good points I can't tell you how many times younger kids have just spoiled matches and such. Like in gta of cod. And destiny being built in a way where teamwork is almost necessary in some parts, it would be very troubling to have younger kids who won't listen. Not that older people are always less ignorant...
-
I'm 14 and I'm pretty mature for my age.
-
This is the only good idea you had
-
The brain on average doesn't finish growing until 30. I think it should be for 29 and under.
