Although I see Achronos' side of the argument (where do you draw the line) I still feel it would be better just to get rid of religious and political threads. For the most part it just leads to baiting and antagonizing. Yes, there seem to be some threads that actually want to discuss the issues in a somewhat civilized manner, but I feel that's a minority. It can be argued that people need to realize when something is bait and when a topic is there for legitimate discussion, but honestly I feel people lack that self control. People on the internet are too eager to share their opinion and don't take the time to stay their hand from clicking the post button. It's a rush of the moment. It is bad that people go around and bait other users into arguments instead of actually addressing topics that people can talk about, it ruins it for the people who do want to talk about it. And it is bad that people can make alts so easily which just ruins the integrity of bans and makes spamming easier. This is just my opinion of the matter. I understand, like the OP that Bungie and the Ninjas have a lot of gray areas that they have to sift through in order to make appropriate decisions. It's definitely not an easy task to have to decide what counts as religious or political and making the availability to discuss these issues does lighten the load on moderators and allows those who want to discuss these issues to discuss them. That being said, I do find that the original method worked better because it prevented the baiting and the antagonizing. If people want to discuss these things, wouldn't it be better for them to go to forums that are centralized on the topics of religion and politics?
