Double stack 1911s exist. It's just they're a bit odd and hard to find.
-
I wish I could choose that. The only problem is that the magazine capacity is so limited that it's impractical to have as anything other than novelty.
-
Extended magazines are a thing you know.
-
still shit capacity. I have 17 + 1 in my glock 19 and thats not even an extended magazine.
-
I'm more comfortable with an M1911 as I've shot one several times. I'd rather have something I'm comfortable with when I'm going to be relying on it to protect myself.

Edited by Funkbrotha10: 5/20/2014 3:11:34 PMif you have shot a 1911 several times then the best sollution reallly is a glock. Glocks are extremely reliable. And are way simpler than the 1911 platform. If you don't have a ton of firearm experience your chances would be best with a glock. Not to mention that the low capacity is still bad even if you can shoot the wings off of a fly with a 1911.

I've never shot a Glock before so I'm just going with what I'm most comfortable with ATM. My answer would probably change if I had fired a Glock before however.
-
you pull glock trigger. glock go bang. /glock user manual No -blam!-ing around with external safeties, hammers, confusion between DA/SA etc
-
I'll have to try one out then time I go to the range. Won't be as fun to shoot as the AKM I shot in Vegas, but a guns a gun.
-
lol your 8rnd mag compared to my 15 rnd mag double stack ftw, unless you have little girl hands.
-
A very expensive and impractical thing.

Lucky for us in Canuckistan, we can get Grorious Chinese 1911s for $350.
Surprisingly, every review of current Norinco 1911s I've read have been nothing but praiseworthy. I've never heard of any malfunctions or quality and machining issues beyond cosmetic finishing.
