I read this and facepalmed. Sure, let's blame the woman who followed dress code for my boner.

"Boners happen". People put such meaning and significance into what is just a change of blood flow. Some people think that it is a 100% accurate indication of desire, interest, passion, or excitement. It CAN indicate those things, but it is not a sure sign, sometimes the plumbing does its own thing. Then there are the "incidental boners". Hugging a friend and they're all like "what in the hell man?!?!" You sheepishly grin and blush and try to explain that "it doesn't necessarily mean anything", but no one's buying that excuse. At least women can blame chilly weather on erect nipples. We can't. Especially since cold usually results in shrinkage.

I know that boners are brought on by random things. I was using it incorrectly due to the lack of a better word.

Nah, I followed you. The men who deemed her dress as "too something" apparently have a hair trigger and not only believe that everyone else is easily aroused, but also that the arousal is not the responsibility of the person who is aroused but rather the "fault" of what aroused them. Complete and utter bullshit. But unfortunately, a lot of people think that way.

Also, I'd like to think of what they would make of one of my prom dresses of the past.
