I wouldn't mind the ability to pit different factions against each other, but it probably won't happen due to balancing issues (what would a clone with EMP launcher do against a Wookiee?)

Yea that would be weird but i think they can work if done correctly, i remember BF2 campaign when the stormtroopers fight the separatists.
