This is dangerous
Especially as our immune system has reached event horizon, antibiotics are now ineffective, i know that has nothing to do with this, but every day it seems like the next black death is just around the corner
our immune system has reached event horizon
lolwut
-
Imagery, obviously event horizon is black hole terminology, but it gives a superb idea of what i mean
-
I'd love to hear your explanation.
-
The event horizon is the point of no return, the end for everything And so that helps to explain antibiotics, they are no longer effective, we cannot return to traditional modern medicine, it signifies the end in our reliance on them, and if no alternative can be found, the end for millions , perhaps billions of people
-
K, well we still have new medications every year to combat new strains of diseases, so you're definitely wrong there.
-
Its not them im talking about, im talking about the fact that antibiotics are quickly becoming useless, its becoming very dangerous
-
Well originally you said they no longer work, and that we're at a point of no return, so...
-
They are, its complicated and im too tired to explain
-
Mkay, well we're not at a point of no return, and you just agreed that we're still capable of producing antibiotics to adapt to new strains of disease.

Sir, it appears as if his liver has gone Supernova. RIP in pepperonis

Requiesicat In Pacem in pepperonis? what? talk about fatty... they rest peacefully on sausages...
-
You can rest peacefully on my sausage.
-
You've never heard of rest in pepperonis? I'll be getting off your lawn shortly.
-
dude, pepperoni is a big sausage named for a small green pepper. you can't put stuff in it.

Edited by Progo: 5/2/2014 10:43:04 PMEDIT: apparently, I forgot simple biology ;_; Agreed, if we can make a good vaccine quickly, it won't be a problem, but nothing can beat having a healthy immune system. I'm pretty mad at the government for not forcing pharmaceutical companies into making plan B antibiotics for something like this.
-
I'm pretty mad at the government for not forcing pharmaceutical companies into making plan B antibiotics for something like this.
and you're thus contributing to the problem. antibiotics anti-biotics anti-bacterial virii are not bacteria and anti biotics does nothing against them but a placebo effect. viruses maybe be symptomatically treated or fought with often experimental, virus specific, anti viral drugs and vaccinated against but not cured.

Oh, that was a big fail on my part. Will you let me get off with a kek?

The entire world has tried, WHO are trying desperately to find a solution, all it takes is for a single, adaptive disease to mutate, and we are Fucked. Bacteria, parasites, viruses, they have adapted, our methods and immune systems are becoming useless, there will be a global epidemic, its scary, hopefully i will be long gone by the time it actually happens, but the chances are that this is the generation that will suffer, but its all a part of nature, there is always a means of population control, be it war, disease, famine, natural disaster or something else. Hopefully something can be done though, with healthcare technology moving as fast as it is though, the chances are we will be relying on nanites rather than antibiotics in the future. But then again, no one knows right?
