To start, the music can be on the console and be accessible threw a UI, to reduce spaminess it should be simulated as a sound in the 3d space so, from farther away it cant be hear and it can be heard directionally. If that's still to spamy then it could be auto muted or just could be on channel for your fire team to only be able to hear.
