Please vote before you read the link. I'm just interested in what country produces the vehicles most people are attracted to, whether it be cost, performance, or luxury, (which may be a future poll).

  • Overall I'd say the United States. However my favorite automobile manufacturing company is Aston Martin so England is a close second. Japan and Germany are tied for third. Japan for Toyota/Lexus (unless you count Lexus as an American company) and Germany for Porsche.

I owned a dodge srt8 2007 charger great car, took a stab at a 2010 335i coupe bmw. The bmw was the worst car ever, I babied it and every other month it was in the shop; had a brake failure; engine dies on me multiple times; computer malfunctions of varying sorts, and the interior was not worth the 49k price tag. My infiniti q50s is awesome, Nissan in General makes a great v6 and I am very happy with my current. I will never buy a bmw again or an audi as I have friends with a4s, s4s, s5s who have had problems ranging from supercharger failures, turbo issues. Differential issues etc. german cars are good lookers, but not daily drivers the only exception is Porsche.

          • It's primarily 'merican for our family with a total of 4 cars and the other two are Volvos. Only one was bought new and the others were practically given to us or we bought them used.

It was a Honda lawn mower that sold me on Japanese manufacturing. That thing lasted basically an entire childhood of hard use without a single issue. My first car has been a Nissan Sentra, still driving it and liking it. It's not perfect but it has been rock solid. Japanese cars generally encapsulate what I want in a car: simple, practical, reliable, high value for low dough. But if you want style on the cheaper side it's American or bust. If you've got money to blow, German. And if you've got a ton of money to blow, Italian.

Germany, of course, with Japan being second. 46 American votes. Silly Muricans.
