Not only is E3 2014 waay too early for a slim version of a console (only around 8 months after release, no not even a year), but the PS4's GDDR5 costs significantly more to produce than the Xbox One's DDR3, and the manufacturing price will never go down. In addition, what makes you think the Xbox One wouldn't make the same sort of price cut and a slim model of its own? You're delusional, and can only supply strawman reasons for why a Kinectless Xbox One wouldn't be a success. I've only seen some of the biggest shills have such a boner for the Kinect.

The only reason they would take such a hit and cut $100 off the price is to encourage purchasing virtual content instead of physical. Bluray drives more likely than not don't cost Microsoft more than around ~$30 per unit. It's only a simple read, no write, drive with what's probably a slow read speed. Not to mention other factors like the mass purchasing of the drives at a lower price, OEM parts, and so on so forth.
