Done.

After a decade of my time spent dedicated to this company and their games, I am done. I have watched as the company has slowly changed over time. Losing Frankie hurt. Losing jamie griesemer hurt. Staten hurt more than them. But Marty WAS the SOUL and HEART of Bungie. This was just a massive loss on Bungies part. The ONLY good that could come of this is if microsoft and 343 grab Marty for the Halo franchise again. But truthfully, this is a very painful moment as a fan of this company, and It has made me feel like it's time to move on from this site and from the community. I no longer have any ties with Bungie that mean anything to me. Can any long-standing member of this community straight-on tell me that Bungie hasn't changed? Because I really feel like since the announcement of Destiny, the company doesn't even act the same way as they used to. The weekly updates feel different than they did years go, the employees are different, I feel like the companies general attitude is different. Years back they felt like they were THE BEST company that involved the community and was extremely vocal towards this community. It all feels like Bungie is so secretive and quiet now, with a different face.

    • It's in these hard times we as a community come together. Stronger than ever. I've only been on the forums for a year, but I have seen us grow angry. We're all angry. We know nothing about this game that seems like the community gemstone! Staten leaves. Now Marty is fired. We all need to gather around and relax. It's not over. Not yet.

    • While change may hurt, it is inevitable. All things come to pass. There's a lot we don't know. Giving up only makes it so nothing else will change. Sometimes it hurts more to wait, but it could be worth it. You're allowed to be angry, just be angry for the right reasons and at the right people. The entire company didn't make this decision, they aren't to blame. How disheartened do you think each and every one of his friends are to see him leave his Ivory Tower?

    • They've changed. The fact that this happened and they've hardly said anything besides that short post by Deej confirms it.

      • Completely agree with everything. I hope with all my heart that Microsoft/343i picks him up and brings him back into Halo where he rightfully belongs, not with a developer who sold their soul to one of the worst publishers on the planet.

It's ironic, since Bungie symbolically "came out of the darkness" when they made this big transition towards Destiny, but now it seems like they are having more troubles in the "light" than they did in the "dark". My conclusion:
Bungie is comprised of vampires.
In all seriousness, though, it is possible that Bungie has been faced with some hard decisions since their big transition. They could very well be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

            • I personally think Destiny will still be great and Marty Did do the music for the first, but the company feels so different. Screw you Bungie. I'll play your game, but I'll be doing it with disgust on my face for how you fired the heart and soul to this company.

            • I can understand people leaving over better job oppertunties, like Staten. But outright firing one of the most loved and important people in your studio is something else.

              • I don't get why people keep bringing up Frankie. He was a community manager and writer for a short period, not a vital part of the team that turned Bungie into a powerhouse developer. People just like Frankie because he posted on the forums and as community manager.
