I've heard of that experiment. I don't know much about quantum physics, but I wonder if the observation device they use interferes with the electrons somehow.

When you measure a quantum state you interact with it. Interacting with it changes its behavior.

Yeah that's something that multiple people have raised concerns about. Because it's true, the device has to fire photons (or electrons) at the particles in order to record them. It's just that the particles shouldn't behave way when in contact with the photons/electrons. And I wouldn't be surprised if they've attempted to fire photons/electrons at the particles (but not record it) to see if it made any difference. My guess is it didn't or else everyone would have forgot about this experiment.
