Well from what I gathered, it wouldn't take much to beat the original FFXIV. Apparently if you wanted to do a simple command like sit down, the action has to be recorded all the way to their server headquarters in -blam!-ing Tokyo and then travel back to you just for your guy to do it, AKA: it takes like three seconds just to register sitting down. It's not an issue of lag, that was how the game was designed to run. There were also in game issues that made everything more than a chore to do.
