Yes we do. Swords were confirmed by deej (in a mail sack or weekly update, can't remember which)

Equipable and useable are not the same thing. Equipable = being able to actually put it in your load out. Useable = being able to pick it up from the environment(think Gears of War series. Could pick up the cleavers and boom shields).
