Dark Souls 2, inFamous, or Titanfall?

inFamous: Second Son

40

Dark Souls 2

56

Titanfall

53

I have 60 dollars to spend on a new game, but I'm really conflicted between the three "big" games of March. I've read up on all three, and they've all interested me. Before you go voting to help me decide however, take these things into mind: -I just started playing the first Dark Souls last week, and I'm very far into it and loving it -I have never played an inFamous before, I have read the plot lines of the first games however -I don't have any friends that have Titanfall. Please only vote if you have one of these games. Thanks for the help!

  • Dark Souls 2. I've having more fun playing PvP in this than I have in recent games I've played.

TF or DS2. Infamous is just Sony's Spray Paint Simulator 2014.

  • I just beat infamous. Amazing game imo. The side missions feel a bit like a chore, but they're still pretty fun. The story isn't near as bad as people say it is, although it did have that feeling that it could've been gone into a whole lot more with the other characters. But it still is pretty epic with how powerful you get. As for darksouls, I was playing it with my buddy last night, and honestly I wasn't impressed at all. The whole difficulty thing is all the game has going for it. It felt like the only thing being done was walking down some halway or path to maybe a couple enemies. Even the combat was boring. Sure you get the occasional butt-puckering roll you have to make, but then it comes down to roll, swing, roll, swing. Obviously I didn't get nearly anywhere into the game, but I'm happy it was my friend who spent $60 on it instead of me. And then for titanfall, I couldn't tell you how the game really is, other than that it looks fun. Just to round things up, infamous was a beautiful fun game. Not the best game ever made nor would it ever be a goty, but I'd say fully worth the $60. Dark souls, to me at least, seems to be riding on a big fad, where everyone is just obsessed with the series. If you want it, but for PC otherwise it'll basically remind you how limited in power the last gen consoles are. I won't make a judgment on titanfall.

  • One playthrough of Dark Souls II gave me 35 hours of gameplay. Admittedly that's half of what the first game got me, but that's just because there was much less of a learning curve since I wasn't new to the series anymore, not because it's shorter or easier. So you're guaranteed to get a lot out of the game, especially since the multiplayer aspect is so much stronger than the first Dark Souls. Titanfall... fantastic game. It's definitely the 'go to' game right now. If you don't have friends that play it, make friends that play it. It will definitely not disappoint. Infamous... never played the series myself, but I haven't heard anything too spectacular from this game, unfortunately.

    • inFamous, or Dark souls II. Titanfall was a money grab and attempted flagship (flagshit) game for the XBONER.

    • Titanfall and Dark Souls 2 are your best choices right now. Ignore SS. It's visually good looking but glitchy and the story is meh.

      • Playing with friends is a sure way to make the most out of Titanfall, so if nobody you know is playing it, then chances are you might not enjoy it as much. If you're really enjoying Dark Souls, then why not get the second and have more of what you love?

      • You can't go wrong with DS2 or Infamous Second Son. Both are highly enjoyable, but offer different experiences. DS2 is more of a "ok, I know I'm about to die... so how can I overcome this?" type of experience. Infamous is more "holy shit, did you see that? Look at all this crazy shit I can do!" type of experience. Both are amazing, for different reasons. Since you already have DS1, why not try the other experience and go with Infamous Second Son?

      • Dark Souls 2. It has a little bit of a different feel to it than the original, but if you're enjoying the original, then you'll definitely enjoy Dark Souls 2. Overall it's a much more difficult and punishing game than the original, even though they've made some aspects easier, but the victories are also that much more satisfactory because of it. The whole experience just feels so much more smooth and polished as well (though the lock on and ranged attack controls can be a little iffy at times)

I'm playing none of them (although I would prefer InFamous). My games are pretty much being released at the end of the year - Destiny - The Division - Halo: XO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This list will inevitably change after E3, since I think I heard The Division might be delayed til 2015 and I have no idea what Halo is being released this year, etc.

        • I have dark souls 2 and titanfall, played both and I like dark souls 2 way more honestly. The multiplayer aspects are awesome, it's very addicting and it doesn't get old like titanfall does in my opinion.

        • Play the first infamous games then get infamous second son. Avoid Titanfall entirely and get Dark Souls 2. It has a lot of content and if you love the first one you'll love the second as well! :D

Dark souls 2 while you can still summon help. It's an awesome game by the way And infamous is 100% single player so there's no reason why you can't hold off and get it cheaper or get an edition with all the DLC or something. I've never played any infamous games so I can't really judge. Titanfall is meh. I don't love it

          • You'll burn out on Titanfall after 40+ hours or so. It's a good game but not really worth 60 dollars. I suggest DS2 because it's a game you want to play soon after launch as the community is exploring the game's world and trying to figure it out.

          • Dark souls two, you're going to get way more out of your 60 bucks from it than the other two. They said there is something new on the NG+. If you don't know what that is, it's starting the game over with the same character but all of the enemies are harder, and in dark souls 2 there is more content.

It sounds to me that if you're loving dark souls dark souls 2 may be good but since you just got the first there's probably more you can do in that. Infamous is incredibly fun and since you haven't played the others yet it would be a good new experience. Titanfall is fun but seems to lose its charms after a little while and completely if you don't have friends to continue with. My recommendation is infamous because that's what I had the most fun with but I don't know you, and it may not be what you're looking for. Dark souls is the runner up with what is for you a tried and true formula. Titanfall is last simply because like most shooters without friends it's not nearly as fun as it could be. I own infamous and dark souls and played a marathon titanfall one night at a friends so that's what I'm basing my opinion off

            • Are you a peasant? No? Then get Dark Souls 2. Titanfall and Infamous both show signs of being rushed to market and lacking in content to justify their pricetags.

Titanfall is great, but not addicting. You'll soar through the ranks quite fast, and if you don't care for a shiny nameplate with a number next to your name like me, you won't prestige. So right now i'm playing the game based off fun rather than incentive. the game is very smooth and fluid - it's even made me suddenly lose interest in my other games due to being annoyed at how any other games i play feel like has received a massive movement nerf after playing titanfall. It's great though if you're just looking for a shooter to get into that's different. Prepare to play teams of tryhards though, there are alot of them. Dark souls 2 will probably bring you longer lasting amounts of gameplay. I haven't played the series, but im sure it has a large amount of content to dabble in. I'd say Titanfall is a must have for xbox one, but if xbox 360 then meh. and infamous is well, about the only game I have seen for ps4 that looks remotely interesting, for inevitably 1 playthrough. And I avoid those games anyways.

Whether or not you pick it up first I'd definitely recommend getting inFamous eventually. Most fun I've had in a while. Surprisingly challenging too (though probably not Dark Souls territory).

            • If you're playing through the first Dark Souls right now, you can probably continue through that and wait until DS2 is a bit cheaper. With InFamous, you really don't need to know the stories of either of the first two games. You're not going to feel lost in it in terms of what is going on. For Titanfall, it's kinda a game where you can go into a game by yourself and generally be good, and since there is kind of a mini-victory epilogue regardless of if your team looses your match, there is never that high frustration level if your team is doing bad. Plus, plenty of people are playing it on here you could potentially play with. Really, you can't go wrong with any of them. Just pick the one you feel like you want to play the most right now. Honestly I'd go Titanfall>InFamous>DS2. Titanfall first just due to the community being most active right now, SS and DS2 can wait because they really aren't going to change too much due to community size.
